Weighted with £15 6s., valuation for improvements consisting of 6 acres of bush felled and in grass and 5 acres of bush underscrubbed.

Situated at the junction of the Mapiu and Mokauiti Roads, about ten miles and a half from Waimiha Railway-station by a formed dray-road. The section comprises mostly low-lying ridges, rising to a fairly high spur at the western boundary, and is covered with a heavy mixed forest of tawa, rimu, matai, pukatea, &c., and a heavy undergrowth of mahoe, raurekau, and supplejacks, with patches of manuka in the south-eastern corner, where there are slight deposits of pumice. The soil generally is of good quality, resting on a papa formation; indifferently watered. Elevation varies from 1,046 ft. to 1,621 ft. above sea-level.

Opening Land in Auckland Land District for Selection on Renewable Lease.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-fifth day of November, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to section one hundred and thirty-five of the said Act, as it contains, or is supposed to contain, metal, mineral, or valuable stone.

Altitude, 450 ft. to 1,100 ft. above sea-level. Mostly broken land, hilly and undulating in parts; about 100 acres mixed forest comprising rata, rimu, taraire, mahoe, towai, and a few totara-trees; balance dead forest, fern, and old kauri workings. North of Waipuna Stream there is a fair area of volcanic land; soil on balance of section is yellow clay, with patches of pipeclay; general quality of section is fair; well watered by streams. Situated about eight miles from Hukerenui Railway-station—six miles dray-road to Tapuhi Post-office, balance unformed.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint

FRANCIS DOWDLE

to be Trustees, in the place of Francis Brown Adams and Robert Waites, resigned, to provide for the maintenance and care of the Belfast Public Cemetery, in conjunction with Robert Guthrie, John Cleland, Edward Harris, Edward Thompson, and Henry Watson, previously appointed.

Defining the Limits of the Auckland Pilotage District.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section sixty-five of the Harbours Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby define the limits of the Auckland Pilotage District to be as follows:—

All the waters inside a right line drawn from the easternmost point of Whangaparaoa Peninsula to the central south-eastern point of Tiri Tiri Island; thence extending to Shearer Rock; thence to the eastern side of Motuhurakia Island; thence to the north-west point of Waiheke Island, extended to Park Point on that island; and thence to the eastern head of the Tamaki River: as the boundaries of the said limits are shown by red lines on plan marked M.D. 3945, deposited in the office of the Marine Department at Wellington.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
