the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments,
for the payment of the Council’s proportion of the cost of
constructing a traffic-bridge across the Waipara River, the
Amuri County Council hereby makes and levies a special
rate of 1/290 of a penny in the pound sterling on the
rateable value of all the lands within the county; and
such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-
yearly on the 1st day of May and the 1st day of Nov-
ember in each and every year during the currency of such
loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until
the loan is fully paid off.

THE following resolution, made by the Tauranga
Borough Council, is published in accordance with the
provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its
amendment.

TAURANGA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
On the motion of the Mayor (B. C. Robbins, Esq.), seconded
by Councillor P. J. H. Munro, it was resolved:—
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a further loan of £1,200 (original loan £12,000 for
waterworks, reservoirs, &c.), authorized to be raised by the
Tauranga Borough Council, under section 21 of the New
Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Amendment Act, 1910,
for the purpose of completing the reclamation of the borough
waterworks, the said Tauranga Borough Council hereby
makes a special rate of 1½d in the pound upon the annual
rateable value of all rateable property of the Borough of
Tauranga; and that such special rate shall be an annual-
recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and be
payable yearly on the 1st day of August in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of
thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off;
and that the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and
Burgesses of the Borough of Tauranga be affixed hereto.

Council, is published in accordance with the provisions

WAITARA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
Resolution making Special Rate.
Notice is hereby given that the following resolution was duly
passed at a meeting of the Waitara Borough Council held on
the 14th day of September, 1912:—
In pursuance of and in exercise of the powers vested in it in
that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its
amendments, and the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and
its amendments, and in particular the powers given by the
Waitara Harbour Board and Borough Empowering Act, 1910,
the Waitara Borough Council hereby resolves as follows:
That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other
charges on a loan of £7,000, specially authorized to be raised
by the provisions of the Waitara Harbour Board and Borough
Empowering Act, 1910, by the Waitara Borough Council,
under the said Acts, for the following purpose—viz., for re-
building the Waitara Bridge, as provided by the said Wai-
tara Harbour Board and Borough Empowering Act, 1910
—the Waitara Borough Council hereby makes and levies the
special rate of 37/64 of a penny in the pound sterling to be
levied upon the rateable valuation (on the basis of the capital
value) of all rateable property in the Borough of Waitara;
and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate
during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly
on the 1st days of August and February in each and every
year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-
six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
We hereby certify that the above is a true copy of and a
correct extract from the minutes of proceedings of the Waitara
Borough Council at the meeting above mentioned, being the
14th day of September, 1912.

the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

NAPIER BOROUGH COUNCIL.
In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the
Acts amending the same.
We, John Vigor Brown, of Napier, Mayor of Napier, and
Arthur Ward Lascelles, of Napier, Returning Officer, hereby
give notice that on the 11th day of September, 1912, a poll of
the ratepayers of the Borough of Napier was duly held and
taken on the proposal of the Council of the said borough to
raise a special loan of £2,250 for the purpose of payment of
the purchase-money of part Town Section 271, comprising
portion of Subdivision 2 thereof, purchased from John Kirk-
caldie, and that at such poll the number of votes recorded
was as follows: For the proposal, 92; against the proposal,
416; majority against the proposal, 324; informal, 14.
Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be rejected.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the
Acts amending the same.
We, John Vigor Brown, of Napier, Mayor of Napier, and
Arthur Ward Lascelles, of Napier, Returning Officer, hereby
give notice that on the 11th day of September, 1912, a poll of
the ratepayers of the Borough of Napier was duly held and
taken on the proposal of the Council of the said borough to
raise a special loan of £2,500 for the following purposes, the
amount applicable to each such purpose being set opposite
the statement of each such purpose respectively, namely:—
Laying out, reclaiming, and improving and erecting £
buildings on the Sir Donald McLean Park . . 1,250
Laying out, reclaiming, and improving and erecting
buildings on the William Nelson Park . . 1,250
£2,500
and that at such poll the number of votes recorded was as
follows: For the proposal, 242; against the proposal, 265;
majority against the proposal, 23; informal, 15.
Wherefore we declare the said proposal to be rejected.
