WANGANUI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Special Order.

RESOLVED, That, in accordance with the prayer of the petition of a majority of the ratepayers of the Mangamahu Road District, whose property in respect of which they are rated aggregates more than half of the rateable property therein, the Wanganui County Council, by special order, hereby declares that on and after the 21st day of September, 1912, the Mangamahu Road Board shall be dissolved and the Mangamahu Road District merged in the county.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the County of Wanganui is hereto affixed in the presence of—

THE following special order, made by the Hokitika Borough Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA.

Special Order making Special Rate to provide Interest and other Charges on a Loan of £3,000.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, the Slaughtering and Inspection Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, the Hokitika Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3,000, authorized to be raised by the Hokitika Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for purchase of a site for and the erection of abattoirs for the Borough of Hokitika and district, the said Hokitika Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. in the pound upon the unimproved value of all rateable property comprised in the Borough of Hokitika; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off; such loan to bear interest at 3½ per centum per annum; such interest and principal to be repayable by half-yearly instalments of £2 10s. 6d. for each £100 of the said loan; and that the land purchased for the site of the said abattoirs and the buildings to be erected thereon be given as collateral security for the repayment of the said loan and interest.

Made by special order passed at a special meeting of the Council of the Borough of Hokitika held on the 9th day of August, 1912, and confirmed at an ordinary meeting of the said Council held on the 6th day of September, 1912; and sealed with the common seal of the Mayor, Councillors, and Burgesses of the Borough of Hokitika in the presence of—

Resolutions made by the Council of the Borough of Hamilton.

THE following resolutions, made by the Hamilton Borough Council, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendment.

BOROUGH OF HAMILTON.

Special Rate (£3,950 Loan).

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £3 950, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the construction of public baths, with pipes and fittings for the supply and discharge of water, £1,250; for payment to the Hamilton Domain Board, under the Hamilton Domains Act, 1911, £2,000; for erection of residence for caretaker of public library, £350; for erection of residence for caretaker of town hall, £350—the Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 5/32 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Special Rate (£45,800 Loan).

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £45,800, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for forming, paving, metalling, and improving streets, £40,000; for levelling, planting, and improving borough lands, and the streets and lands on the banks of the river, £2,000; for drainage of surface water, £2,500; for street lighting, £500; for renewing or replacing No. 1 Bridge, £800—the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1d. and 9/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be paid yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-five years, or until the loan is fully paid off.

Special Rate (£25,000 Loan).

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hamilton Borough Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and other charges on a loan of £25,000, authorized to be raised by the Hamilton Borough Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, to construct waterworks, and additions to the present waterworks, and to acquire, erect, construct, and place land, buildings, plant, machinery, pipes, and other things for the purpose of such construction and additions, £20,000; to construct drains and works for sewerage and drainage, £5,000—the said Hamilton Borough Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/16 of a penny in the pound on the rateable value (unimproved) of all rateable property of the Borough of Hamilton: and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable yearly on the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

I hereby certify that the above resolutions were duly passed at a meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council held on the 6th day of September, 1912.
