wires hereinafter mentioned in, over, along, and across the roads or portions of roads described in the Schedules hereto, which roads are not upon the route of the said tramways, for the purpose of the convenient working of such tramways: And whereas notice of this application was duly given, as required by the provisions of the said section twelve of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, to the Boards of the Remuera and One-tree Hill Road Districts, being the local authorities of the districts through which the said wires are to be carried, and in which said local authorities the said roads are vested: And whereas the said local authorities have consented to the said application being given effect to: Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section twelve of the Tramways Amendment Act, 1910, do hereby consent to the company suspending, constructing, maintaining, and using for the purpose of conveying, transmitting, or distributing electricity sixteen No. 4/0 bare overhead feeder-wires of solid hard-drawn copper in, over, along, and across the roads or portions of roads described in the First Schedule hereto, and twelve No. 4/0 bare overhead feeder-wires of solid hard-drawn copper in, over, along, and across the roads or portions of roads described in the Second Schedule hereto: And I do further consent to the company erecting, constructing, maintaining, and using in and along all the said roads or portions thereof in the positions shown on the plans hereinafter referred to such posts, poles, standards, struts, or other above-ground contrivance for carrying, suspending, supporting, or rendering effective any such feeder-wires as aforesaid. And for the purposes aforesaid, or any of them, the company may exercise all or any of the powers conferred or mentioned by or in clause eighteen of the Second Schedule to the Tramways Act, 1908. This consent is given subject to the work being carried out and maintained in strict accordance with the Board of Control’s requirements.

FIRST SCHEDULE.

ALL that route upon which the feeder-wires are to be carried or erected commencing at the Epsom sub-power-station about 3 chains east of the junction of Epsom Road and Green Lane, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction along Green Lane, and terminating at the junction of that road with the Great South Road.

SECOND SCHEDULE.

ALSO all that route upon which the feeder-wires are to be carried or erected commencing at the terminating-point described in the First Schedule hereto, and proceeding thence in a north-easterly direction along Green Lane to its junction with Ascot Avenue; thence in a northerly direction along Ascot Avenue to its junction with Remuera Road: all in One-tree Hill and Remuera Road Districts: as the said routes are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 32125, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon shown by red line and lettered A B and B C respectively.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.

PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

of Palmerston North, to be Returning Officer for the purpose of conducting the first election of five members of the Board of Trustees of the Sluggish River Drainage District as constituted under the Land Drainage Act, 1908; also to appoint Wednesday, the 9th day of October, 1912, to be the date, and the Public Hall, at Oroua Bridge, to be the place, for holding such election; also to appoint Tuesday, the 15th day of October, 1912, at 1 o’clock in the afternoon, to be the day and the hour, and the Public Hall, Rangiotu, to be the place, at which the first meeting of trustees shall be held.
