dred and twenty-one of the Land Act, 1908, if it shall,
in the opinion of the Governor, be expedient to change the
purpose of such reserve or any part thereof from the pur-
pose or presumed purpose for which it was set apart to any
other purpose, or if it shall, in the opinion of the Governor,
be expedient to exchange any of the land comprised in such
reserve for other land of equal value, to be dedicated to one
or more of the purposes named in the said Class II, the
Governor may, by notice gazetted, make such change,
exchange, or dedication, as the case may be, and in such
notice declare the manner and terms in which the same is
intended to be so made :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by the Public Reserves and Do-
mains Act, 1908, aforesaid, declare my intention to change
the specific purpose of the portion of the reserve described
in Part II of the Schedule hereto from that named in
Part I of the said Schedule to that named in Part III of
the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

PART I.

Description and Purpose of Original Reserve.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 264 acres 1 rood, more or less, being
reserve numbered 1923, situated in Blocks XIII, Ashburton
Survey District, and XVI, Westerfield Survey District,
and bounded north-eastward by Section 4905, the Borough
of Ashburton, and Reserve 2668; south-eastward by a line
in continuation of the south-eastern boundary of the Ash-
burton Borough; south-westward by Sections 4354, 23096,
and 6422; and north-westward by a line in continuation
of the north-western boundary of Section 6503: save and
excepting thereout Reserve 1952 and Sections 6503, 21018,
and 22128, which are included in the above-described
boundaries: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1912/467A, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered blue.

Reserved for railway conservation purposes by notifica-
tion in Gazette No. 84, of the 11th October, 1877.

PART II.

Description of Portion of Reserve the Purpose of which
it is intended to change.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, contain-
ing by admeasurement 70 acres, more or less, being reserve
numbered 3905 (formerly portion of Reserve 1923), situated
in Block XIII, Ashburton Survey District, and bounded
north-eastward by Reserve 2668, south-eastward by a line in
continuation of the south-eastern boundary of the Borough
of Ashburton, south-westward by Rural Section 4354, and
north-westward by the north-western side of the main
South Road; as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1912/467B, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
bordered blue.

PART III.

Intended Purpose.

For bridge-protection purposes.

this seventh day of September, one thousand
nine hundred and twelve.

Changing the Purpose of Portion of a Reserve in Block
XII, Rangiora Survey District, Canterbury Land Dis-
trict.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
forms portion of a reserve duly set apart for a
gravel-pit, being a reserve within Class I of the Second
Schedule of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908,
and such land has not been vested in trust in any society,
body corporate, or trustees:

And whereas it is expedient that such land shall be ap-
propriated for a site for a public school, being a reserve
within Class III of the aforesaid Act:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
eleventh section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act,
1908, do by this notification declare that the said land shall,
from and after the nineteenth day of September, one thou-
sand nine hundred and twelve, be appropriated for a site for
a public school under Class III of the Public Reserves and
Domains Act, 1908; and I do hereby direct that this notifi-
cation shall be published in the New Zealand Gazette.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing
by admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 28 perches, more or
less, being Reserve 3904 (formerly part of Reserve 94),
situated in Block XI, Rangiora Survey District. Bounded
towards the north by the public road, 338·1 links; towards
the east by a public road, 570 links; towards the south by
Reserve 3903, 338·1 links; and towards the west by Re-
serve 2539, 570 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. and S. 1912/897, deposited in the Head Office, Depart-
ment of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon
coloured pink.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eleventh day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and twelve.

Land temporarily reserved for Quarry Purposes in Block
IV, Thames Survey District, Auckland Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first
section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that
the Governor may from time to time, either by general or
particular description, and whether the same has been
surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwith-
standing that the same may be then held under pastoral
license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required
for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby
temporarily reserve from sale the land in the Auckland
Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written,
for quarry purposes.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 4 acres 3 roods 15 perches, more or
less, being Section 1, Block IV, Thames Survey District,
commencing at a point 136002 links south and 343258·2 links
east of Mount Eden. Bounded towards the north-east by
a line bearing 138° 8', 402 links; towards the south-east by
a public road bearing 234° 4', 568·4 links, 222° 56', 317·8
links, and 232° 5', 236 links; towards the south-west by
a line bearing 318° 8', 489·7 links; and towards the north-
west by a line bearing 54° 57', 1124·2 links: be all the
aforesaid bearings and linkages more or less: as the same
is delineated on the plan marked L. and S. 1912/818, de-
posited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Sur-
vey, at Wellington, and thereon edged red. (Auckland
Plan 15441, blue.)

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor,
this eleventh day of September, one thousand nine
hundred and twelve.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the fourth section of the Cemeteries
Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand,
do hereby appoint the several persons whose names are
specified in Part I of the Schedule hereto to have the con-
trol and management of the public cemetery specified in
Part II of the said Schedule,
