Constituting the Town District of Otaki, in the County of Horowhenua.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS is it enacted by the Town Boards Act, 1908, that the Governor may declare that any locality outside a borough wherein there are not less than fifty householders shall be a town district :
And whereas a petition has been presented to the Governor by the inhabitants within the area mentioned and described in the Schedule hereto, praying that such area may be constituted a town district under the Town Boards Act, 1908 :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the Town Boards Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said area shall be a town district, and the same is hereby constituted a town district, under the Town Boards Act, 1908, by the name of the Otaki Town District: And, in further pursuance and exercise of the said powers, I do hereby proclaim, declare, and appoint that the Board of Commissioners for the said district shall consist of seven members.
SCHEDULE.
OTAKI TOWN DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Wellington Land District bounded by a line commencing at a point on high-water mark of the sea, being the westernmost corner of Taumanuka No. 2B Block; thence along the northern boundaries of Taumanuka Nos. 2B and 2A Blocks to the north-eastern corner of the latter block; thence along a right line to the Haruatai Stream at the south-western corner of Church Mission Grant of 33 acres 3 roods; thence along the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the said grant to Church Mission Grant of 24 acres 1 rood 16 perches; thence along the north-western and south-western boundaries of the last-mentioned grant and along the north-western side of the road forming the south-eastern boundary of that grant to its north-eastern corner; thence along the north-eastern boundary of the said grant to the south-western corner of Piritaha No. 4 Block; thence along the western and north-eastern boundaries of that block, part of the western and north-eastern boundaries of Piritaha No. 3 Block, and the western boundaries of Piritaha Nos. 6, 7, 1, 2, and 8A Blocks, and the north-eastern boundaries of Piritaha Nos. 8A, 8B, and 8C Blocks to the Haruatai Stream; thence along the western side of that stream to the north-western corner of Te Moutere No. 8 Block; thence along the south-western side of the northern branch of the said Haruatai Stream to the Main Trunk Railway line; thence along the northern side of that railway-line, Te Awaroa and Totaranui No. 1 Blocks, and the said railway-line to the road which skirts the railway-line through Kaingaraki No. 3 Block; thence across that road and along its northern side to the south-western boundary of Kaingaraki No. 3 Block; thence along the western boundaries of Kaingaraki Nos. 3, 6, 2A, 1, and 1B Blocks, the south-western boundaries of Kaiawakura No. 7 and Pahianui No. 3 Blocks, and the western boundaries of Pahianui Nos. 8 and 4 and Waerenga 7A No. 1 Blocks to Riverbank Road; thence along the south-eastern side of that road to a point opposite the southernmost corner of Harurunui No. 1 Block; thence across the said road and along the western boundaries of Harurunui No. 1 and Tutangatakino No. 9 Blocks to the northern side of the old course of the Otaki River; thence along the northern side of the said old course of the Otaki River to the Rangiuru Creek; thence along the eastern side of that creek to a point in line with the south-western boundary of Taumanuka No. 31 Block; thence across the said Rangiuru Creek to and along the south-western boundary of Taumanuka No. 31 Block to the sea; and thence along high-water mark of the sea to the place of commencement.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty's Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of September, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

ERRATUM.—In the Warrant dated the 10th day of June, 1912, and published on page 1922 of Gazette No. 52, of the 13th June, 1912, for “Section 2,” in the fourth line of the Schedule, read “Section 13,” and for the words “Block XV aforesaid,” in the sixth line of the Schedule, read “Subdivision of Te Kumi Block.”
