BOROUGH OF HOKITIKA.
RESULT OF POLL.
PURSUANT to section 39 of the Rating Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Hokitika was taken on the 21st day of August, 1912, on the proposal “That, in accordance with section 2, clause (2), of the Rating Amendment Act, 1911, all rates now or hereafter leviable in the Borough of Hokitika be levied on the unimproved value of all rateable property within the said borough.”
The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 185. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 74. I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

IN THE MAGISTRATE’S COURT, HELDEN AT WANGANUI.
In the matter of the Industrial and Provident Societies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Wanganui Cooperative Society (Limited).
NOTICE is hereby given that a petition for the winding-up of the above-named company by the Magistrate’s Court was on the 23rd day of August, 1912, presented to WILLIAM KERR, Esquire, a Magistrate of the said Court by A. HATRICK AND CO. (LIMITED), GIBSONS AND PATERSON (LIMITED), T. H. RICE AND CO., and D. R. WALKER AND CO.; and the said petition is directed to be heard before a Magistrate of the said Court on the 9th day of September, 1912; and any creditor or contributory of the said company desirous to oppose the making of an order for the winding-up of the said company under the above Act should appear at the time of hearing, by himself or his counsel, for that purpose; and a copy of the petition will be furnished to any creditor or contributory of the said company requiring the same, by the undersigned, on payment of the regulated charge for the same.

NOTICE.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto subsisting between WALTER JAMES AUSTIN and CHARLES FREDERICK MASON JOHNSON, carrying on business as Contractors at Gisborne and Opotiki under the style or firm of “Austin and Johnson,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from the 22nd day of August, 1912.
All debts due and owing by the said late firm will be received and paid respectively by the said WALTER JAMES AUSTIN, who will continue to carry on the said business.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of Harris and Bastin (Limited).
AT an extraordinary general meeting of members of the above-named company duly convened and held at the offices of Messrs. Buller, Anderson, and Buddle, 9 Johnston Street, Wellington, on the 21st day of August, 1912, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—
“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of this meeting that the company cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same, and accordingly that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that Mr. ERNEST WILLIAM HUNT, of Wellington, Accountant, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of such winding-up.”

THE MOTOR REGULATION ACT, 1908.
PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Springs County Council has, by resolution passed on the 29th day of July, 1912, decided that Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, be brought into force in the Springs County on and after the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
Dated at Springston, this sixth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
