Electric Welded Fencing.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS electric welded fencing made of metal wire not exceeding three-sixteenths of an inch in
diameter is imported into New Zealand, and is an article which, in the opinion of the Minister of Customs,
possesses properties which enable it to be used for purposes similar to those for which metal-wove wire is used,
the said metal-wove wire being free of duty under the Customs Duties Act, 1908, if the produce or manufacture
of some part of the British dominions, and liable to duty at the rate of ten per centum ad valorem if not the pro-
duce or manufacture of such dominions :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon me by section sixty-six of the
Customs Law Act, 1908, do hereby direct that electric welded fencing made of metal wire not exceeding three-
sixteenths of an inch in diameter shall be admitted into New Zealand free of duties of Customs if the produce or
manufacture of some part of the British dominions, and shall be liable to duty at the rate of ten per centum
ad valorem if not the produce or manufacture of such dominions.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the
Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the
office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said
Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth sec-
tion of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.

appoint Wednesday, the 14th day of August, 1912, to be the date, and the Forester’s Hall, Havelock North, to be
the place, at which such first election shall be held; and also to appoint Friday, the 23rd day of August, 1912, at 7.30
o’clock in the afternoon, to be the time, and the said Forester’s Hall, Havelock North, to be the place, at which the
first meeting of the said Commissioners shall be held.
