The Board may, on any half-yearly date on which an instalment is payable in respect of an advance made under the said section 274, pay any sum of not less than £100, or a multiple of £100, in reduction of that advance.

All moneys so paid shall be applied in or towards satisfaction of the future instalments in the order of their due dates in the following manner:—
(a.) In the case of each instalment of principal which is wholly satisfied, and on which no interest has actually begun to accrue, the corresponding instalment of interest shall not be payable.
(b.) The instalments unsatisfied in whole or in part shall, as to both principal and interest, be deemed to be due and payable at half-yearly intervals computed from the due date of the instalment next preceding the instalment that is first satisfied in whole or in part, and there shall consequently be no break in the periodical continuity of the payments to be made by the Board.

Electric Lines Regulations.—Telephone Exchange Charges to be paid Quarterly.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of July, 1912.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the first day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the second day of November, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), prescribing, inter alia, the charges to be levied for connection with a telephone exchange: And whereas it is expedient to amend such regulations in the manner hereinafter set forth:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulation numbered six under the heading “Telephone Exchanges” in the Schedule to the above-recited Order in Council, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulation set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth declare that the said regulation shall have effect on and after the date of publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.
SCHEDULE.
TELEPHONE EXCHANGES.
- The first payment in respect of the hire of any telephone instrument shall be payable on the date on which the connection with the telephone exchange is completed, and shall be in respect of the period elapsing between that date and the first day of the following January, April, July, or October, as the case may be. All subsequent payments shall be payable quarterly, in advance, on the 1st day of January, April, July, and October of each and every year.

Licensing Percy N. Kingswell to occupy Land below Low-water Mark, in the Hauraki Gulf, and to erect Hoppers thereon, for the Purpose of taking Shingle and Sand.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this sixteenth day of July, 1912.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.
WHEREAS there being no Harbour Board empowered to grant the license hereinafter mentioned, Percy N. Kingswell, of Auckland (hereinafter called “the licensee”), has applied to the Governor in Council for a license, under the Harbours Act, 1908 (hereinafter called “the said Act”), to use and occupy a part of the land below low-water mark, in the Hauraki Gulf, and to erect hoppers thereon, for the purpose of dredging and taking away the shingle and sand deposited thereon; and, in accordance with the provisions of the said Act, has deposited a plan in the office of the Marine Department, at Wellington (marked M.D. 3882), showing the area of foreshore and land below low-water mark intended to be occupied for such purpose:
And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed taking of shingle and sand will not be or tend to the injury of navigation, and the said plan has, prior to the making of this Order in Council, been approved by the Governor in Council:
And whereas it is desirable to grant the license applied for:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the purpose or object for which the said license is required by the licensee as aforesaid; and, in further pursuance and exercise of the said power and authority, and with the like advice and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby license and permit the licensee to use and occupy that part of the land below low-water mark, near Pakihi Island, which is particularly shown and delineated by being edged in red on the plan so deposited as aforesaid, for the purpose of dredging and taking away the shingle and sand deposited thereon, and of erecting hoppers thereon in accordance with plans to be first approved by the Governor in Council; such license to be held and enjoyed by the licensee upon and subject to the terms and conditions set forth in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.

In these conditions the term “Minister” means the Minister of Marine as defined by the Shipping and Seamen Act, 1908, and includes any officer, person, or authority acting by or under the direction of such Minister.

The concessions and privileges conferred by this Order in Council shall extend and apply only to the part of the land below low-water mark necessary for the purposes hereinbefore mentioned, as shown edged in red in the plan marked M.D. 3882, and deposited in the office of the Marine Department as aforesaid.

In consideration of the concessions and privileges granted by this Order in Council, the licensee shall, on being supplied with a copy thereof, pay to the Minister the sum of £2 10s., and thereafter a royalty of 3d. per cubic yard on all shingle and sand taken from the said land below low-water mark included in the license, such royalty to be paid to the Superintendent of Mercantile Marine, at Auckland, or such other person as the Minister may direct.
