MAKARA COUNTY COUNCIL.

No. 2 Special-rating Area.—Ngahauranga to Newlands Road.—Resolution making Special Rate.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Makara County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and principal on a loan of £2,300, authorized to be raised by the Makara County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of constructing a road from Ngahauranga to Newlands, the said Makara County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 6d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the No. 2 Special-rating Area, that is to say:—

The land is situated in the Belmont Survey District, and is part of Blocks VII and XII. It embraces the whole of Sections 10, 11, 12, 14, and 15 in the Harbour District of Wellington, and the whole of Section 13 in the same district, excepting Lots 11, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, the boundaries of which are as follows: Commencing at the south corner of Section 10 where it joins the Hutt Road, and proceeding along the north-west boundary of Section 10 to its north-west corner for a distance of 5460 links; then along the north-eastern boundaries of Sections 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15 for a distance of 129 chains and 50 links approximately to the northern corner of Section 15; then along the south-eastern boundary of Section 15 to the Hutt Road for a distance of 5810 links; thence south-west along the Hutt Road to the commencing-point. Also Sections 2 and 3 in the registration district known as the Horokiwi Road District, and a part of Section 1 in the same district lying adjacent to the Harbour District sections above described, the boundaries of which are as follows: Commencing at a point 817·9 links from south boundary of Section 13, and proceeding thence along west boundary of Section 1 for a distance of 2616 links; thence on a bearing of 70° 17′ 27″ and a distance of 5238·8 links to the north boundary of Section 16, Harbour District; thence north-west on a bearing of 99° 21′ 27″ and a distance of 4532·4 links, which line is along the south boundary of Section 2 as far as its south-west corner; thence northerly along the west boundaries of Sections 2 and 3 to the north-west corner of Section 3; thence along the northern boundary of Section 3 for a distance of 8378 links, until the line meets the northern boundary of Section 19, Harbour District; thence along south-west boundary of Sections 3, 2, and 1 to commencing-point. Also parts of Sections 10, 12, 14, 15, 17, and 19 lying within the registration district known as Porirua, and immediately adjacent to Sections 1, 2, and 3, Horokiwi Road District above mentioned. The parts of Sections 14, 15, 17, and 19 alluded to above comprise the settlement known as Paparangi, the boundaries of which are as follows: Commencing at a point along the northern boundary of Section 12, Harbour District, distance 995·4 links from its northern corner, and proceeding thence along the south boundary of Section 10 for a distance of 3017·69 links; thence on a bearing of 11° 3′ 30″ and for a distance of 658·53 links to Chamberlain Road; thence along the southern boundary of Chamberlain Road for a distance of 24·6 and 273 links; thence across Chamberlain Road on bearing of 11° 9′ and in a line with the eastern side of Kensington Street; thence along the eastern side of Kensington Street for a distance of 10 chains to the northern boundary of Section 10; thence again along east boundary of Kensington Street, on a bearing of 5° 42′ and for a distance of 229·12 links, to the bend in Kensington Street; thence along south side of Kensington Street to the angle of the street on a bearing of 101° 28′ and for a distance of 355·55 links; thence across the street to the opposite angle, thence on a bearing of 10° 29′ for a distance of 295·9 links, thence on a bearing of 45° and for a distance of 1295·7 links, thence on a bearing of 18° 18′ 40″ and for a distance of 811·15 links to the south boundary-line of the Paparangi Settlement; thence north-westerly along the said south boundary for a distance of 580 links; thence across the narrow road called Kewakewa Road; and thence along the boundary of the Nini Road for a distance of 12 chains to its junction with boundary-line dividing Sections 27 and 28; thence along the said common boundary-line to south boundary of Section 26; thence along south boundary of Section 26 for a distance of 61·51 links in a north-westerly direction; thence along west boundary of Lot 26 as far as its junction with Aurora Road; thence north along east boundary of said road for a distance of 1008 links; thence across to opposite angle, thence south-east along north side of road for a distance of 280 links to Section 4; thence along western boundary of Sections 4 and 22 to the north boundary of the Paparangi Settlement; thence south-east along said northern boundary for a distance of 38½ chains and west boundary of Section 3, Horokiwi Road District, and distant from north-west corner of Section 3 173·4 links; thence along west boundary of Sections 3, 2, and 1 to the junction with the north boundary of Section 13, and distant from its south-west corner 817·9 links; and thence for 1813·3 links along parts of north boundaries of Sections 12 and 13, Harbour District, to commencing-point. These lands are shown on plan and are comprised within the green tint thereon.

And that such special rate shall be an annually recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable on the 1st day of August in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL.

No. 8 Special-rating Area.—Upper Hutt to Pahautanui Road Bridge Special-rating Area.—Resolution making Special Rate.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments.

In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, the Hutt County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest and principal on a loan of £1,350, authorized to be raised by the Hutt County Council, under the above-mentioned Act, for the purpose of constructing and erecting a bridge across the Hutt River, on the Upper Hutt to Pahautanui Road, the said Hutt County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 1/16 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property of the No. 8 Special-rating Area, that is to say:—

Commencing at the north-eastern boundary of Section 2, Block 9, Akatarawa Survey District; thence generally easterly in a straight line to the north-western boundary of Section 2, Block 7, Paekakariki Survey District; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of said Section 2 and Section 12 adjoining to the north-eastern boundary of Section 58 in said Block 7; thence generally easterly in a straight line to the north-western boundary of Section 19, Block 6, Paekakariki Survey District; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of said Section 19 and Sections 16, 15, 12, and 44, Block 6, and 11, 8, 7, 4, and 3, Block 9, Paekakariki Survey District, to the south-western boundary of said Section 3 and a continuation of the latter to the northern boundary of Lot 1 of Section 87, Block 9, Paekakariki Survey District; thence generally north-westerly in a straight line to the north-eastern boundary of Section 84, Block 8, Paekakariki Survey District; thence south-westerly along the western boundaries of said Section 84 and Section 83 and the southern boundary of said Section 83 in said Block 8 to the shores of the Porirua Harbour; thence generally northerly, easterly, and southerly along the said shores to the south-western corner of the Pahautanui Recreation Reserve; thence easterly along the southern boundary of the said reserve to the north-western boundary of part Section 7, Block 9, Paekakariki Survey District, containing 31 acres; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of said part Section 7 to its point of intersection with the northern boundary of Section 6, Block 3, Belmont Survey District; thence south-westerly to the northernmost boundary of the adjoining Section 5; thence generally southerly along the western boundaries of said Section 5 and Sections 2, 1, 69, 352, and the southernmost boundary of the latter to the western boundary of Section 349; thence generally southerly along the western boundary of said Section 349 and a continuation thereof to the southern boundary of Section 342; thence south-easterly along the southern boundary of said Section 342, and southerly along
