✨ Patent Applications and Acceptances
JUNE 27.] THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE. 2091
At the top the inner part of the clip is bent at a right angle
and is formed into a hook which is adapted to spring upon
and clasp the projecting extension of the back of the clip.
(Specification, 2s. 6d.)
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place
of the claims.]
No. 31335.—14th May, 1912.—JAMES BUTTERWORTH, of
Remuera, near Auckland, New Zealand, Contractor, and
OTTO GEORGE FISCHER, of Ponsonby, near Auckland afore-
said, Butcher. Improvements in the composition of material
for flooring, road-making, and other like purposes, and method
of manufacturing the same.
Extract from Specification.—The constituent parts of the
mixture, which after being used in predetermined proportions
and subjected to the required treatment form the special
road or floor covering, are pitch, tar, resin, and ironsand,
though the use of pitch may be dispensed with.
(Specification, 2s.)
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place
of the claims.]
No. 31337.—16th May, 1912.—JOSEPH KOWALEWSKI, of
Waipuku, Taranaki, New Zealand, Farmer. Improvements
relating to steering ploughs.
Extract from Specification.—The end of the plough-beam is
adjustably connected to a bridge supported upon land-wheels,
and having a pivoted draw-bar which is connected to the
beam by a draught-chain. The draught-bar slides over a
projecting quadrant, and is securable thereto in any desired
position.
(Specification, 2s.)
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place
of the claims.]
No. 31345.—16th May, 1912.—LEOPOLD SIEDE, of 390
Queen Street, Melbourne, Mechanic, and ARTHUR STREET,
of 51 Tivoli Road, South Yarra, both of Victoria, Australia.
Improvements in and relating to sheep-shearing machines.
Extracts from Specification.—Hitherto in most sheep-shear-
ing machines the prongs of the fork have been turned over
downwards at their outer extremities to provide for a bearing
surface that shall press upon the surface of the cutter, and
by so doing keep it suitably positioned upon the comb of the
shear. . . . In our invention we propose to dispense
with the turned-down extremities and to use instead knuckle-
plates upon the prongs of the fork. These plates are attached
loosely thereto, and will be susceptible of a slight swinging
motion thereon to accommodate their bearing surfaces to
that of the cutter.
(Specification, 3s. 6d.)
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place
of the claims.]
No. 31363.—22nd May, 1912.—WILLIAM ARTHUR ALLEN, of
Albany Crescent, Surrey Hills, Victoria, Australia, Commer-
cial Traveller. An improved pipe-stem or cigar and cigarette
holder.
Claim.—An improved pipe-stem or cigar and cigarette
holder made in two separable longitudinal pieces or sec-
tions, one being provided with a slightly tapered longitudinal
dovetail portion and the other with a corresponding mortise
adapted to be slidably connected, substantially as specified
and as illustrated.
(Specification, 1s. 9d.)
No. 31434.—4th June, 1912.—ST. CLAIR JOUNNEAUX, o
Palmerston North, New Zealand. An improved combined
funnel and tin-piercer.
Extract from Specification.—The invention comprises a
funnel combined with a piercer in such a way that the bottom
of a tin container is pierced by a piercer which also holds
the funnel in position, or the piercer may be also attached to
the funnel that it is used without holding the funnel in posi-
tion, or the piercer is attached in such a way that it is detach-
able and may be used upon any suitable funnel. Where
desired, a strainer or strainers are fixed inside the funnel.
(Specification, 4s.)
[NOTE.—The above extract from the specification is inserted in place
of the claims.]
Copies of drawings may be obtained at the uni-
