Varying Warrant fixing Special Rate on Coal at Greymouth, and appointing Collector thereof.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by Warrant dated the sixteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and one, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 77, of the twenty-second day of the same month, a special rate of threepence per ton on every ton of coal brought for shipment in the Harbour of Greymouth was fixed, and the Treasurer of the Greymouth Harbour Board was appointed to be the person by whom such rate should be collected : And whereas it is desirable to add to such Warrant :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby add after the word “Treasurer” in the said Warrant of the sixteenth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and one, the following words, namely : “for the time being.”

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Vesting Control of the Tunakore Bridge and Approaches in the Dannevirke County Council.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and twenty of the Public Works Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is, inter alia, enacted that the Governor may, upon the terms and conditions in the said section mentioned, by Warrant publicly notified, direct that any bridge already constructed, or which may hereafter be constructed, over or across any river or arm of the sea respectively shall, from and after a date to be fixed in such Warrant, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of such local authority as shall be mentioned in that behalf in such Warrant ; and may by any such Warrant as aforesaid fix and determine whether all or any, and, if so, what part, of the cost, whether theretofore incurred or thereafter to be incurred, of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing any such bridge is to be provided and paid by the local authority or local authorities, and, if so, by what local authority or local authorities ; and may by any such Warrant as aforesaid direct how, when, and to whom any such payment is to be made :

And whereas it is expedient to make provision under the said Act for the purpose and in the manner hereinbefore set forth :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the bridge and approaches thereto as described in the Schedule hereto, and known as the Tunakore Bridge and approaches, shall, from and after the date of this Warrant, be under the exclusive care, control, and management of the Dannevirke County Council :

And, in further pursuance and exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, I do hereby fix and determine that the cost of maintaining, repairing, improving, or reconstructing the said bridge and the approaches thereto is to be provided and paid by the Dannevirke County Council out of the funds of the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

That bridge over the Tunakore River, in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Dannevirke County, situated on the Mangamaire Road between Sections 6 and 3, Block X, Mangatoro Survey District, together with the approaches thereto ; as the site of the said bridge and approaches are shown by means of a red cross on the plan marked P.W.D. 31835, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.
