Vesting Land in a Maori Land Board under the Provisions of Part XIV of the Native Land Act, 1909.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-fourth day of June, 1912.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section three hundred and fifty-two of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that, on the confirmation of any such resolution as is referred to in paragraph (a) or paragraph (b) of section three hundred and forty-six of that Act, the Governor may, if he thinks fit, by Order in Council vest the land affected by the resolution in the Maori Land Board of the district in which the land is situated; and the land shall thereupon become subject to Part XIV of that Act, and all the provisions of that Part shall apply thereto accordingly in the same manner as if all of that land had been set aside for leasing in the case of a resolution within the said paragraph (a), or for sale within the said paragraph (b):

And whereas by a resolution within the said paragraph (b) of the said section three hundred and forty-six, passed by the assembled owners and duly confirmed by the Aotea District Maori Land Board, it was resolved that the land set out in the Schedule hereto be vested in the Aotea District Maori Land Board under Part XIV of the said Act: And whereas it is expedient that the said land should be so vested:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers in this behalf vested in him by the aforesaid section three hundred and fifty-two, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, doth hereby vest the land specified in the Schedule hereto in the Aotea District Maori Land Board for sale under the provisions of Part XIV of the Native Land Act, 1909.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land situate in the Nukumaru Survey District, containing 172 acres, more or less, being known as Nukumaru No. 2 Block.

Lands temporarily reserved in Block III, Lewis Survey District, Nelson Land District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the three-hundred-and-twenty-first section of the Land Act, 1908, it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, either by general or particular description, and whether the same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands which in his opinion are required for any of the purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve from sale the lands in the Nelson Land District described in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the said Schedule specified at the end of the respective descriptions of the lands so intended to be temporarily reserved.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 20 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 16 of Block III, Lewis Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Sections 11 and 3 of Block XV, Rahu Survey District; towards the east by a creek; towards the south-west by a road; and towards the west by Section 10 of the before-mentioned Block III: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1912/494A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For a resting-place for travelling stock.

All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 76 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section 15 of Block III, Lewis Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section 3 of Block XV, Rahu Survey District; towards the south-east by a road forming the north-west boundary of Section 4 of the before-mentioned Block III; towards the south and south-west generally by a road; and towards the west by a creek: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1912/494B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red. For accommodation-house purposes.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twenty-first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Lands temporarily reserved for Public Cemeteries in the Westland Land District.

Bounded towards the north-east by Crown land, 147·3 links; towards the east by Crown land, 141·9 links; towards the south-east by Crown land, 111·2 links; towards the south-west by a public road, 179 links and 245·2 links; and towards the north-west by Crown land, 234·9 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1912/524A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Reserve No. 1042, Block XI, Mawheranui Survey District. Bounded towards the north-west by Crown land, 131 links, and road reserve, 137·7 links, being a total distance of 268·7 links; towards the north-east by road reserve, 396 links; towards the south-east by road reserve, 268·7 links; and towards the south-west by Crown land, 396 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1912/524B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Also all that area in the Westland Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Reserve No. 1052, Block III, Ahaura Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Crown land, 250 links; towards the south-east by Crown land, 400 links; towards the south-west by a public road, 250 links; and towards
