DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned, ARTHUR JAMES HOWISON and HAROLD HOWES, carrying on business as Timber and Engineers’ Merchants, at Dunedin, under the style or firm of “C. M. Howison and Son,” has been dissolved by mutual consent as from 1st instant.

The undersigned, ARTHUR JAMES HOWISON, has taken over the Timber, Lime, and Cement business, and will carry on same in Filleul Street, Dunedin, under the style of “C. M. Howison and Son,” and has assumed all liabilities of and will receive all accounts due in connection therewith.

The undersigned HAROLD HOWES has taken over the business of Engineers’ Merchant, and will carry on same at 16 Manse Street, Dunedin, under the style of “Harold Howes and Co.,” and has assumed all liabilities of and will receive all accounts due in connection therewith.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership heretofore existing between WILLIAM STEPHENSON, MARGARET STEPHENSON, and WILLIAM SYDNEY BURT, of Gisborne, carrying on business at Gisborne as Cafe-proprietors, has been dissolved as from the 8th day of June, 1912. The business will be carried on by the said WILLIAM STEPHENSON and MARGARET STEPHENSON, who will pay all liabilities off and receive all moneys due to the late firm.

MIRAMAR BOROUGH COUNCIL.

NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL THAT THE SYSTEM OF RATING ON UNIMPROVED VALUE SHALL APPLY TO WATER AND OTHER SPECIFIED RATES.

PURSUANT to the provisions of section 2 of the Rating Amendment Act, 1911, and of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of the ratepayers of the Borough of Miramar was taken on the 5th day of June, 1912, on the proposal that the system of rating property on the basis of unimproved value shall henceforth apply to water rates, gas rates, electric-light rates, sewerage rates, and hospital and charitable-aid rates.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 97. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 25.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

In the matter of the Companies Act, 1908; and in the matter of the Fragra Tea (Limited).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held at Wellington on the 11th day of June, 1912, the following extraordinary resolution was duly passed :—

“That it has been proved to the satisfaction of the company that it cannot, by reason of its liabilities, continue its business, and that it is advisable to wind up the same; and the said FRAGRA TEA (LIMITED) be and is hereby wound up voluntarily.”

And at the same meeting Messrs. ROWLEY AND GILL, of Wellington, were appointed Liquidators for the purposes of such winding-up.

THE GOLDEN CROSS GOLD-MINING COMPANY (LIMITED).

AT an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company duly convened and held on the 22nd day of May, 1912, at the office of the company, Nos. 11 and 12 N.Z. Insurance Buildings, Queen Street, Auckland, the following resolution was duly passed; and at a subsequent extraordinary general meeting of the members of the said company also duly convened and held at the same place on the 10th day of June, 1912, the following resolution was duly confirmed, viz. :—

“That it is desirable to reconstruct the company, and, accordingly, that the company be wound up voluntarily; and that J. B. SHEATH, of Auckland, New Zealand, Company Manager, be and is hereby appointed Liquidator for the purposes of winding up the Golden Cross Gold-mining Company (Limited).”
