Notifying Land in the Canterbury Land District subject to the Land for Settlements Act, 1908.

PURSUANT to the provisions of the Land for Settlements Consolidation Act, 1908, and its amendments, I hereby notify that the undermentioned Crown land, being the land known as the Avenel Settlement, which has been acquired under the said Acts, is subject to the said Acts as from the 30th March, 1912.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,749 acres and 18 perches, more or less, situate in Blocks VIII and IX, Corwar Survey District, and Blocks II and III, Ashburton Survey District, being Rural Sections 7310, 15597, 25899, 26788, 23437, 23438, 23439, 23440, 23470, 26669, and 15598, being all the land comprised in certificates of title, Vols. 21/32, 41/101, 97/173, 40/293, 81/51, 42/64, and part of 250/91, District Land Registry Office, Christchurch; and as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 19428, and deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

ALL that area in the Awamoko and Oamaru Survey Districts, in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 1,671 acres, more or less, and being Sections 51, 52, 53, part 47A, 48, 49, 50, and part of a closed road, Block IX of said Awamoko Survey District; Sections 1 and 727B, part 7, parts 2, 3, 4, and parts of closed roads, Block XV, and parts 1 and 2, and parts of closed roads, Block XVI of the said Oamaru Survey District. tioned road, 60·1 links; and bounded again generally on the south-west by the Burnside Road, 4979·2 links, to its junction with the Pig Island Road; thence towards the north-west by the last-mentioned road, 8098·6 links, to the point of commencement: be all the aforesaid linkages a little more or less: the said area of land being more particularly shown on plan L. 19430, and thereon edged red: excepting, nevertheless, out of the said boundaries those portions of the Pine Hill Road and the Oamaru-Ngapara Railway as are coloured brown and green on the said plan, and for which exceptions the requisite allowance has been made in the area.
