Domain Board appointed to have Control of the Oxford Domain.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1912.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section forty of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is enacted that the Governor may from time to time, with respect to any public domain, appoint such persons (not exceeding nine) as he thinks fit to be a Domain Board having, subject to Part II of the said Act, control of such domain:

And whereas by an Order in Council made on the twenty-eighth day of April, one thousand nine hundred and two, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and two, certain powers were delegated to the Oxford Domain Board for a period of ten years:

And whereas the period for which the said Board was appointed expired on the twenty-seventh day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve:

And whereas it appears expedient to again appoint a Domain Board to control the domain:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint

JOHN CROSS,
JOHN FISHER, and
RICHARD JOHN BRICKERTON DALLEY

to be the Oxford Domain Board, having control of the land described in the Schedule hereto for the purposes of and subject to the provisions of the said Act; and doth hereby appoint Tuesday, the fourth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at three o’clock p.m., as the time when, and the Coronation Hall, Main Street, Oxford, as the place where, the first meeting of the Board shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
Oxford Domain.

ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 216 acres, more or less, being Reserve No. 1651 (in red), situate in Blocks VIII and XI, Oxford Survey District, and bounded as follows: Towards the west by Rural Section 25509, 4864 links; towards the east by Rural Section 24130, and also by a line in continuation of its western boundary, a distance altogether of 5155 links; and towards the north by the right bank of the River Eyre: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1341, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 8 acres 2 roods 26 perches, more or less, being that portion of Rural Section 1889 to the south of the Oxford-Rangiora Railway line passing through the said section. Bounded on the north by the aforesaid railway-line, 642 links; on the east by part Rural Section 1941, 1446 links; on the south by the Oxford-

Rangiora Road, 629 links; and on the west by part Rural Section 1839, 1312 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1341A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Exempting Roads in the Counties of Bruce and Tuapeka from the Provisions of Section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this thirteenth day of May, 1912.

Present:
THE HONOURABLE T. MACKENZIE, F.R.G.S., PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by subsection one of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that the said section shall not apply in any case where the local authority having control of any road or street, by resolution declares that the provisions thereof shall not apply to any specified road or street, or any specified part thereof, and such resolution is approved by the Governor in Council:

And whereas by subsection two of section one hundred and seventeen of the Public Works Act, 1908, it is provided that such approval may be either absolute or subject to such conditions with respect to the building-line as the Governor, by Order in Council, thinks fit to impose:

And whereas the Bruce and Tuapeka County Councils, being the local authorities having control of the roads described in the Schedule hereto, did by resolution declare that the provisions of the said section one hundred and seventeen should not apply to the said roads:

And whereas it is deemed expedient that such resolution should be approved:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by the above-in-part-recited Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby approve of the said resolution in so far as it affects the said roads described in the Schedule hereto.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Tuapeka and Bruce Counties, commencing at its junction with a road passing through Section 2, Block VI, Waitahuna East District, near the southern end of the section, and proceeding in a south-westerly and southerly direction generally through Sections 2 and 20, Block VI, Waitahuna East District, and adjoining Sections 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block IX, Waitahuna East District, to its junction with another road (already exempted from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908) near the easternmost corner of the said Section 9, being a distance of 118 chains, more or less.

Also all that road in the Bruce and Tuapeka Counties, commencing at its junction with a road in Section 2, Block VI, Waitahuna East District, near the northern end of the section, and proceeding thence in a south-westerly direction generally through the said Section 2, and adjoining Sections 20 and 24, Block VI, Waitahuna East District, and Sections 4, 3, 2, 1, 8, 7, 6, and 5, Block IX, Waitahuna East District, and Sections 13, 12, 14, and 11, Block VIII, Waitahuna East District, to its junction with a road on the east bank of the Waitahuna River, being a distance of 245 chains, more or less.

Also all that road in the Bruce County, commencing at its junction with a road (already exempted from the provisions of section 117 of the Public Works Act, 1908) at the south-western corner of Section 9, Block IX, Waitahuna East District, and proceeding in a north-westerly direction generally adjoining Sections 7, 6, 5, 13, 14, and 15, Block IX, Waitahuna East District, and Sections 14, 11, 15, and 10, Block VIII, Waitahuna East District, to its junction with the road on the east bank of the Waitahuna River at the south-western corner of the said Section 11, being a distance of 175 chains, more or less.

As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31447, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Provincial District of Wellington, and thereon coloured red.
