BYRON BROWN (LIMITED).

NOTICE is hereby given that at an extraordinary general meeting of the above-named company held at Otaki on the 12th day of December, 1911, the following special resolution of the company was confirmed:—

“That the whole of the assets of the company, including the book debts, be sold to Mr. Byron Paul Brown, of Otaki, merchant, for the sum of £7,000.

“That the company be wound up voluntarily, under the provisions of the Companies Act, 1908, and that the said Byron Paul Brown be appointed Liquidator for the purpose of such winding-up.

“That the Liquidator be directed to sell and transfer the whole of the assets of the said company, including the book debts, to the said Byron Paul Brown for the consideration above mentioned.”

THE MOTOR REGULATION ACT, 1908.

PUBLIC notice is hereby given that the Matamata County Council has, by resolution passed on the 1st day of April, 1912, decided that Part II of the Motor Regulation Act, 1908, be brought into force in the County of Matamata on and after the 11th day of May, 1912.

RAGLAN COUNTY COUNCIL.

SPECIAL ORDER MAKING BUILDING BY-LAW.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon it by the Public Health Act, 1908, the Public Health Amendment Act, 1910, the Counties Act, 1908, and its amendments, and of every other power (if any) it thereunto enabling, the Council of the County of Raglan doth hereby ordain as follows:—

  1. In this by-law, unless the context shall require a different construction,——

“Council” shall mean the Council of the County of Raglan:

“County” shall mean the Raglan County:

“House” includes hotel, boardinghouse, and any building in which human beings dwell or are intended to dwell.

The erection of a dwellinghouse shall be deemed to include the erection for the purpose of a dwellinghouse of any building pulled down to within 5 ft. of the ground, or the conversion into a dwellinghouse of any building not originally constructed for human habitation, or the conversion into more than one dwellinghouse of a building originally constructed as one house only, or an addition to a house (so far as such addition is concerned), or the procuring of an existing house or of any other building or part of a dwelling intended to be re-erected and used as a dwellinghouse or part of a dwellinghouse, and placing the same upon any site within the county.

Words in the singular number shall include the plural, and vice versa, and any reference to a person shall extend and apply to a corporation.

The ground upon which any dwellinghouse is erected, together with the whole curtilage thereof enclosed within the boundary fences, walls, or lines of the premises, shall be deemed to be the site of such house within the meaning of these by-laws.

  1. No person shall, after this by-law comes into force, erect a dwellinghouse in the county upon any site——

(a.) With a less frontage than 66 ft. to some public road;

(b.) Of a less area than a quarter of an acre.

It shall be sufficient compliance with clause (a) of this paragraph if such site shall have an uninterrupted frontage to the sea or to a river or tidal creek of not less than 66 ft.

  1. No person shall, after this by-law comes into force, erect a shop, or shop and dwellinghouse combined, in the county upon any site——

(a.) With a less frontage than 40 ft. to some public road;

(b.) Of a less area than one-sixth of an acre.

Provided, however, that the external walls of such shops shall be constructed of non-combustible material other than corrugated iron.

  1. No person shall erect, or suffer, permit, or allow to remain erected, any building on any land within the county whereby the site of any such dwellinghouse as is mentioned in clause 2 hereof shall——

(a.) Have its frontage to a public road, or to the sea, or to a river or tidal creek reduced to less than 66 ft.;

(b.) Have its area reduced to less than a quarter of an acre.

  1. No person shall sell, lease, deal with, or dispose of any land upon which any such dwellinghouse or shop, or shop and dwellinghouse as is mentioned in clause 2 hereof, shall be erected in such manner that the minimum frontage or minimum area as prescribed by this by-law for the site of such dwellinghouse or shop shall be diminished or reduced.

  2. Nothing in this by-law contained shall apply to any allotment of land shown on a plan of subdivision deposited in any Lands or Deeds Registration Office or approved by the Raglan County Council prior to the passing of the Public Health Amendment Act, 1910.
