Notice of Intention to take Land in Blocks V and XIII, Waipakura Survey District, for Road Purposes.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under the provisions of the Public Works Act, 1908, to execute a certain public work, to wit, the construction of a road in Blocks V and XIII, Waipakura Survey District, and for the purposes of such public work the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken. And notice is hereby further given that the plan of the land so required to be taken is deposited in the post-office at Makirikiri, and is there open for inspection; and that all persons affected by the execution of the said public work or by the taking of such land should, if they have any well-grounded objections to the execution of the said public work or to the taking of such land, set forth the same in writing, and send such writing, within forty days from the first publication of this notice, to the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

Notice to make Returns of Income under the Land and Income Assessment Act, 1908.

Land and Income Tax Department,
Wellington, 13th May, 1912.

NOTICE is hereby given that, in pursuance of the above Act and the regulations made thereunder, every person and company within the meaning of the said Act, having derived income during the year ending 31st March, 1912, from any source or by any means which is made the subject of taxation under the said Act, is hereby required to duly make and furnish to me, in the prescribed form, returns of such income on or before the 1st June, 1912.

And, further, notice is hereby given that such returns shall in all cases be delivered at or forwarded to the office of the Commissioner of Taxes, in the Government Buildings, at Wellington.

NOTE.—Persons who have not received forms of return from this office may obtain them at any Postal Money-order Office.

SPECIAL NOTE.—Any person failing to furnish a return at the prescribed time is liable to a penalty of not less than £2 nor more than £100.

Regulations made by the Public Trustee under the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892, and any Amendment of the same.

IN pursuance and exercise of all the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892, and the amendments thereof, Frederick Fitchett, the Public Trustee of the Dominion of New Zealand, doth hereby make the following regulations:—

In all leases to be hereafter issued under the West Coast Settlement Reserves Act, 1892, or its amendments, the forms of leases as prescribed by the regulations made thereunder shall be modified as follows, that is to say: The covenant that “The lessee will fence” shall be omitted; and in lieu thereof the following covenant shall be inserted:—

The lessee will, within twelve months after the commencement of the term hereby granted, completely fence the boundaries of the demised land with a sufficient fence within the meaning of the Fencing Act, 1908, and also will at all times during the said term keep in good and substantial repair and condition all subdivisional or boundary fences now or hereafter erected upon or around the demised land; and also will not at any time call upon or compel the lessor to contribute to the cost of erecting, repairing, or maintaining any boundary fence between the demised land and any adjoining land in which the lessor may have any estate or interest; and also will at all times indemnify the lessor from all liability under the Fencing Act, 1908, in respect of the erection, repair, or maintenance of boundary fences between the demised land and any adjoining land: Provided always that nothing herein shall operate or be construed to deprive the lessee of any rights he may have (under the aforesaid Act or otherwise) against any other person than the lessor: Provided further that nothing herein contained shall be deemed to lessen, limit, or restrict the lessee’s liability under the covenant to keep in repair implied herein by law.

Notice of Vesting of Land in the Public Trustee under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (Part II, Unclaimed Lands).

WHEREAS I, the undersigned, the Public Trustee, have, for the purposes of Part II of the Public Trust Office Act, 1908 (relating to unclaimed lands), made due inquiries with respect to the land described in the Schedule hereunder, and the owner thereof, and have, in respect of the said land, given the notices prescribed by section 66 of that Act, and have in all respects complied with the provisions of that Act pertinent hereto: And whereas I have not thereby ascertained who the owner is, and believe that such owner is not in the Dominion, nor has such owner established his title to the said land, as required by the said Act: I hereby give notice that the said land is, under and by virtue of the said Act, vested in the Public Trustee as aforesaid, as from the date of the publication hereof, and will be administered under the Public Trust Office Act, 1908, the value of the land for the purposes of section 67 (d) of the said Act being less than £100.

ALL that parcel of land, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more or less, being Allotment 23, Town of Kihikihi, in the Parish of Puniu. Bounded towards the north by Allotment 22, 340 links; towards the east by a road, 295 links; towards the south by Allotment 24, 340 links; and towards the west by Allotment 28, 295 links.
