cultivation 167 acres, including English grass; balance in
tussock, native and English grasses, rather steep and
broken, but very good limestone soil; fairly well watered
by springs and small gullies. Situated nineteen miles and
a half from Timaru by well-formed road. Improvements
which are included in price of section consist of 347 chains
of fencing, valued at £126 10s.

Section 14.—Altitude, 560 ft. to 1,050 ft. About 26 acres
flat, rather shingly in places, now in rape and turnips,
and about 162 acres in tussock, native
and English grasses; is rather steep and broken in places,
but all good limestone soil, fairly well watered by springs
and creek. Situated nineteen miles from Timaru by well-
formed road. Improvements which are included in price
of section consist of about 350 chains of fencing, valued at
£131 5s. The improvements not included in price of sec-
tion, but which must be paid for separately, consist of
new wool-shed (six stands) and stable (eight stalls, two
loose boxes), machine-shed, and storeroom lined with wood,
all under one roof, built of iron on jarrah piles, £400;
new cottage (four rooms), bathroom, and wood-shed, built
of wood and roofed with iron, tongued-and-grooved lining,
£300; wool-shed, £10 : total, £710.

Section 15.—Altitude, 530 ft. to 1,030 ft. All in English
grass, excepting about 4½ acres in garden, orchard, and
plantation one year and a half old, and 15½ acres in
tussock; hilly faces rather steep, but excellent limestone
soil; well watered by springs and small creeks. Situated
eighteen miles and a half from Timaru by well-formed
road. Improvements which are included in price of section
consist of about 277 chains of fencing, valued at £93 10s.
The improvements not included in price of section, but
which will have to be paid for separately, consist of a
quite new dwellinghouse, built of wood, with tile roof,
lined with plaster and wood, all well finished, containing
six bedrooms, drawing-room, kitchen, scullery, bathroom,
dairy, wash-house, coal-house, two store-rooms, cupboards,
&c., verandah, hot and cold water service, bells, and pipes
laid for acetylene gas, valued at £1,275; much below cost
price.

Section 16.—Altitude, 530 ft. to 1,020 ft. All limestone
hill in English grass, except 10 acres, which is rather
broken, covered with tussock and English grasses; all but
a few acres ploughable; good soil; fairly well watered
by springs and one small creek. Situated seventeen miles
and three-quarters from Timaru by well-formed road. The
improvements which are included in the price of the sec-
tion consist of 129 chains of fencing, valued at £42 15s.

Section 17.—Altitude, 500 ft. to 1,039 ft. All plough-
able limestone hill in English grass, a little broken in part;
soil very good, fairly well watered by springs and small
creek. Situated seventeen miles from Timaru by well-
formed road. The improvements which are included in the
price of the section consist of 156 chains of fencing,
valued at £49 7s.

Section 18.—Altitude, from 600 ft. to 980 ft. Hilly
limestone land; 160 acres have been ploughed and laid
down in English grass; the balance, most of which can
be ploughed, is in tussock and English grass; all is very
good soil, well watered by springs and creeks. Situated
eighteen miles from Timaru—seventeen miles and a quarter
of which is well formed, remainder to be formed. The
improvements consist of 232 chains of fencing, valued at £73 10s.

Section 19.—Altitude, from 570 ft. to 980 ft. Hilly
limestone land; about 230 acres have been ploughed, and
are now in English grass; balance tussock and English
grass; 15 acres good flat at southern end; all very good
soil; well watered by springs and creeks. Situated seven-
teen miles and a quarter from Timaru by well-formed
road. The improvements which are included in the price
of the section consist of 194 chains of fencing, valued at
£62 10s.

of the Land Act, 1908, that part of Section 23,
Block IX, Ohura Survey District, containing 3 roods
8·9 perches, will be disposed of, under section 131 of the
said Act, to the holder of adjoining land on or after
Friday, the 14th day of June, 1912.

Reserves in Hawke’s Bay Land District for Lease by
Public Auction.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned
lands will be offered for lease by public auction at
the District Lands Office, Napier, at 11 o’clock a.m. on
Thursday, 13th June, 1912, under the provisions of the
Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, and amendment.

Situated about a mile and a quarter from Weber on
the main Dannevirke to Herbertville Road. Well watered
by the Tahukaretu Stream. Soil fair, on clay formation;
small portion in flat, and balance is undulating and hilly;
all in grass.

Situated about two miles and a quarter from Weber and
a mile and a quarter from the main Dannevirke to
Herbertville Road. Well watered by several streams. Sec-
tion is somewhat rough and broken by steep gullies; soil
is good; all in grass, with the exception of about 35 acres.

Terms and Conditions of Lease.

  1. Term of lease, twenty-one years, subject to termina-
    tion by twelve months’ notice in the event of the land
    being required by the Government.

  2. A deposit of a half-year’s rent and £1 1s. lease fee
    must be paid on the fall of the hammer.

  3. Possession will be given on 1st July, 1912, from which
    date rent will commence.

  4. The rent shall be paid half-yearly in advance.

  5. There are no restrictions or limitations as to the
    number of sections which one person may hold, and no
    declaration is required. Residence and improvements are
    not compulsory.

  6. The lessee shall have no right to sublet, transfer, or
    otherwise dispose of the land comprised in the lease except
    with the written consent of the Commissioner of Crown
    Lands first had and obtained.

  7. The lessee shall have no right to fell or remove from
    the land any live or dead trees or timber, whether standing
    or lying on the ground.

  8. All persons duly authorized in that behalf shall have
    free right of ingress, egress, and regress for such purposes
    as the Commissioner of Crown Lands may deem expedient.

  9. The lessee shall destroy all rabbits on the land, and
    he shall prevent their increase or spread to the satisfaction
    of the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  10. The lessee shall prevent the growth and spread of
    gorse, broom, sweetbriar, and other noxious weeds on the
    land comprised in the lease, and he shall with all reason-
    able despatch remove or cause to be removed all gorse,
    sweetbriar, broom, or other noxious weeds or plants as
    may be directed by the Commissioner of Crown Lands.

  11. The lessee will at all times during the term of the
    lease keep all fences upon or about the land in good and
    substantial repair.

  12. The lease will be liable to forfeiture in case the lessee
    shall fail to fulfil any of the conditions of the said lease
    within thirty days after the date on which the same ought
    to be fulfilled.

taining approximately 15 acres 2 roods, will be disposed
of under section 128 of the said Act, to the holder of
adjoining land, on or after Friday, the 31st day of May,
1912.
