Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

Wellington, 30th March, 1912.

THE following notice, received from the Chairman of
the Featherston Town Board, is published in accord-
ance with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908.

FEATHERSTON TOWN BOARD.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.
I HEREBY give public notice that a poll of the ratepayers
of the Featherston Town District was taken on Thursday,
the 28th day of March, 1912, on the proposal of the
Featherston Town Board to borrow the sum of £200 for
the purpose of completing the Featherston Coronation
Swimming-baths.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 37.
The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 24.
I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

PORTOBELLO ROAD BOARD.

Public Hall Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers
of the Portobello Road District taken on the 20th day
of March, 1912, on the proposal of the Portobello Road
Board to borrow the sum of £400 for the purpose of pro-
viding a public hall within the said district, the number
of votes recorded for the proposal was 72, and the number
of votes recorded against the proposal was 33.

I therefore declare that the proposal was carried.

Borough of Wanganui, is published in accordance
with the provisions of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908.

WANGANUI BOROUGH COUNCIL.

Notice under Section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act,
1908.

I HEREBY publicly notify that at the poll taken on the
21st day of February, 1912, on the proposal of the Wa-
ganui Borough Council to borrow the sum of £15,000
for the following purposes—that is to say, the construc-
tion and completion of a reservoir at Westmere, the
erecting of a tunnel at Okehu connecting the Mangahoro-
pito Stream with the Okehu Stream, the laying of pipes
in the tunnel for the purpose of carrying water from the
Mangahoropito Stream to the Okehu Stream, and the
erecting of dwarf walls at Okehu on the upstream side
of the dam—the following votes were recorded :—

upon me by section 15 of the Land Act, 1908, I
hereby authorize the laying-off of Naumai, Ruia, Koa, and
Rautea Streets, in the Town of Te Kainga, Southland
Land District, of a width of not less than 66 ft. instead
of 99 ft.

Military Training, Dominion of New Zealand.—Notice
as to Military Training.

NOTICE is hereby given that every male inhabitant
liable to military training, who has not already
registered, must do so on or before the 31st day of May,
1912, as follows :—

(a.) All male persons who will have, on the 31st May,
1912, attained the age of fourteen years or upwards, but
will not have attained the age of twenty-two years, who
have not already registered ; this does not mean that any
one who was over the age of twenty-one last year when
the scheme came into operation is affected, the age of
twenty-two only refers to those of them who neglected to
register last year.

(b.) All boys attending any high school, college,
secondary school, or other scholastic institution or organiza-
tion who will attain or have attained fourteen years of
age on 31st May, 1912, must register. Registration may
be made by the school authorities on behalf of the boys.

(c.) All boys attending any primary school who will
attain or have attained fourteen years of age on 31st May,
1912, must register. Registration of boys attending
primary schools may be made by the school authorities on
behalf of the boys.

(d.) All male persons temporarily absent from the Do-
minion, not previously registered, and liable to register
in terms of the original notice of 10th April, 1911, must
do so within two months of their return.

(e.) All male immigrants between the ages of fourteen
and twenty-two must register within six months after
arrival in the Dominion.

(f.) All male persons who, owing to change of residence,
have ceased to reside in an exempted area, must register
within thirty days of such change of residence to an area
not so exempted.

All persons liable must fill in a prescribed form of
registration in respect of military training under the
Defence Acts, and post or deliver same to the Area
Sergeant-major of the territorial area in which the ap-
plicant for registration resides.

Forms of registration may be obtained at any military
office, post or police office.

Any person to whom this notice applies, who fails to
take any step necessary to secure his registration as afore-
said, is liable to a fine of £5, and shall not be eligible for
employment in any branch of the Government service, or
on reaching the age of twenty-one to be enrolled as an
elector under Division II of the Legislature Act, 1908.
