land, in pursuance of the provisions of the said in-part-recited Act, do by this Proclamation signify and proclaim to all whom it may concern that the said Bill has been laid before His Majesty in Council, and that His Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same; and I do further declare that it shall come into operation on the first day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Amended Regulation under the Government Railways Act, 1908.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of March, 1912.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the Government Railways Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, did, on the eighteenth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and ten, for the purpose of the aforesaid Act, make certain regulations thereunder (hereinafter referred to as “the principal regulations”), that were gazetted on the nineteenth day of May then instant: And whereas it is expedient to amend those regulations:

Now, therefore, in further exercise of the aforesaid powers, and of all other powers enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke Regulation 54 of the principal regulations, and doth hereby make the following regulation in lieu thereof; and doth hereby declare that this Order in Council shall come into force on the day of the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


REGULATION.

  1. (a.) No member who is married, or is a widower with a child or children dependent upon him, shall receive a salary of less than £140 17s. per annum.

(b.) No member who is twenty-two years of age or upwards shall receive a salary of less than £100 per annum.

(c.) For the purpose of giving effect to the last two preceding subclauses, such member shall receive, by way of special allowance, such additional sum as will raise the salary to which he is entitled under the Schedule to the Government Railways Act, 1908, and amendments thereof, to the rate of £140 17s. per annum in case (a), and £100 per annum in case (b).

(d.) Such additional sum shall, in the case of each such member, be paid in the same manner and subject to the same conditions as his salary under the aforesaid Schedule and its amendments.

(e.) The right to such additional sum shall be deemed to commence on the date on which the member furnishes to the General Manager satisfactory evidence that he possesses the qualification entitling him thereto; and the first payment shall be made with the first payment of Schedule salary after that date.

Abolition of Reduction in Premiums in the Case of Ministers of Religion.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-fifth day of March, 1912.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and ten, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred on him by the Government Life Insurance Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), did make a regulation prescribing deductions to be made from the rates of premiums payable in respect of life-insurance policies effected on the lives of ministers of religion: And whereas it is expedient to revoke the said regulation except so far as it relates to policies heretofore effected:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Act, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said regulation as from the date of the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette: Provided that, notwithstanding the revocation of the said regulation, all policies heretofore issued and subject thereto shall remain subject to the same rates of deduction as if the said regulation had not been so revoked: Provided also that any person who, on the date of the publication of this Order as aforesaid, is a policyholder, and who subsequently thereto becomes registered as an officiating minister under the Marriage Act, shall be entitled to the same deduction in respect of his policy as if the said regulation had not been revoked.

Declaring Oropi Settlement Road, in the Tauranga County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of March, 1912.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.


SCHEDULE.

ALL that road in the Auckland Land District, Tauranga County, known as Oropi Settlement Road, commencing at its junction with Akeake Road, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction generally, adjoining Sections 573, 572, passing through Section 533, adjoining Sections 561, 564, 565, and part 566, Block VII, Otanewainuku Survey District; thence adjoining Sections part 566, 567, 568, 569, 570, and passing through 4870E, Weraroa, Block XI, Otanewainuku Survey District, and terminating at its junction with the Tauranga to Rotorua via Oropi Road, being a distance of 3 miles 70 chains, more or less: as the said road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 31467, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red and lettered A B.
