Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-seventh day of May, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

Undulating to hilly land; a few acres felled bush, which has come up in fern; balance mixed forest comprising rimu, totara, kahikatea, rata, taraire, towai, tawa, and kohekohe. Soil a sandy clay and loam of good quality, on sandstone formation; well watered by running stream. Situated about eight miles from Herekino by formed dray-road, and about seven miles from Takahue by formed bridle-track.

Altitude, from about 100 ft. to 400 ft. above sea-level. Comprises about 30 acres swamps; balance fern and tea-tree, with a few clumps of shelter-bush. Undulating to broken land; medium soil, resting on clay formation; fairly watered. Situated in Maramarua Settlement, about eighteen miles from Pokeno by fair road.

Soil of fair quality, of a sandy nature, on pumice formation; well watered. Situated about eight miles from Te Puke Township by formed road.
