THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

  1. Robert Owen Ellis, of New Plymouth, to be the Returning Officer for the purpose of taking the said poll, and also to be the person authorized to prepare a voters roll of the persons entitled to vote at the said poll, containing the names of persons qualified to vote at any election of members of the Town Board and having voting qualifications in respect of the area affected by the proposed poll.

  2. The voters roll prepared and signed by the said Robert Owen Ellis shall be the voters roll to be used at the said poll.

  3. The said poll shall be taken on Tuesday, the twenty-sixth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

  4. The said poll shall be taken as nearly as may be in the manner provided by the Local Elections and Polls Act, 1908, and the Returning Officer hereby appointed shall be deemed to be a Returning Officer appointed for the purposes of the said Act.


SCHEDULE.

AREA PROPOSED TO BE ANNEXED TO THE BOROUGH OF NEW PLYMOUTH.

ALL that area in the Taranaki Land District situated in Blocks IV and V, Paritutu Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by the Borough of New Plymouth, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the 11th January, 1912, page 53, from the sea to the northern side of Gladstone Road; towards the south-east generally by the said side of Gladstone Road to Belt Road, across the said Belt Road and by its south-western side to the northernmost corner of Original Section No. 20, Block V, Paritutu Survey District; by the north-western boundary-line of that section, and also of Original Sections Nos. 19 and 18 of the said Block V, to the westernmost corner of the latter section; towards the south-west by Section No. 9 (Fitzroy District), Block IV, Paritutu Survey District; again towards the south-east by the north-west boundary-line of the said Section No. 9 and its production to the south-western side of Bayly Road; again towards the south-west by the said side of Bayly Road and its production to the sea; and thence towards the north-west by the sea to the Borough of New Plymouth aforesaid.

Amending Regulations under the Fisheries Act, 1908, as to Size of Blue-cod.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of March, 1912.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and six, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 41, of the thirty-first day of the same month, regulations were made, inter alia, prescribing the minimum weight at which blue-cod may be taken, bought, sold, exposed for sale, or kept in possession:

And whereas it is desirable to increase the said minimum weight:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section five of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke clause ten of the hereinbefore-recited Order in Council in so far as it relates to the weight of blue-cod, but not further or otherwise, and doth hereby make the following regulations.


REGULATIONS.

  1. No person shall take, buy, sell, expose for sale, or have in possession any blue-cod of a less weight than 1 lb. avoirdupois.

  2. Any person committing a breach of the foregoing regulation shall be liable to a fine of not less than £1 and not exceeding £20.

Amending Regulations for Trout and Perch Fishing in the Auckland Acclimatization District.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of March, 1912.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 2, of the eleventh day of the same month, certain amendments were made to the regulations for trout and perch fishing in the Auckland Acclimatization District:

And whereas it is desirable to revoke the said amendments:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon him by the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the said recited Order in Council of the fourth day of January, one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Additional Regulations for Trout-fishing in the Canterbury Acclimatization District.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of March, 1912.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Fisheries Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby make the following additional regulations for trout-fishing in the Canterbury Acclimatization District.


REGULATIONS.

  1. THE season for fishing for trout in Lakes Rubicon, Grassmere, Lyndon, Miramar, and Sarah shall commence on the 1st day of December in each year, and end on the 30th day of April in the following year.

  2. It shall be unlawful to take trout by angling from boats of any description whatsoever on the lakes hereinbefore mentioned.

  3. Any person committing a breach of the foregoing regulations is liable to a fine not exceeding £20.

Bull’s Town District not to be Part of County of Rangitikei.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this fifth day of March, 1912.

Present:

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Governor is satisfied that the population of the Bull’s Town District, in the County of Rangitikei, exceeds five hundred, and the Town Board of the said Bull’s Town District has made application that the said town district shall not form part of the County of Rangitikei, being the county within the boundaries of which it is situated:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, the Bull’s Town District shall not form part of the County of Rangitikei.
