of the said Council’s district hereinafter described—the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 2¾d. in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in that part of the Waimairi County District being Rural Section 78, Block X, Christchurch Survey District, bounded on the north by the Riccarton Road, on the east by Cutlers Road, on the south by Blenheim Road, and on the west by the western boundary of the said rural section; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

The foregoing resolution was duly passed at a meeting of the Waimairi County Council held on the 19th day of February, 1912.

The common seal of the Chairman, Councillors, and Inhabitants of the Waimairi County was hereto affixed, this 2nd day of March, 1912, in the presence of—

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Resolution making Special Rate.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it in that behalf by the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the New Zealand State-guaranteed Advances Act, 1909, and amendments thereof, the Waimairi County Council hereby resolves as follows: That, for the purpose of providing the interest, sinking fund, and other charges on a loan of £1,700, authorized to be raised by the Waimairi County Council, under the above-mentioned Acts, for the following purposes—viz., concrete channelling, asphalt-ing, and regrading the roads in a special area of the said Council’s district hereinafter described, the said Waimairi County Council hereby makes and levies a special rate of 13/32 of a penny in the pound upon the rateable value of all rateable property in that part of the Waimairi County District, being part of Rural Sections 163 and 145, Block XI, Christchurch Survey District, commencing at a point on the west side of the northern railway-line 5 chains south of the Riccarton Road, thence westerly by a line running parallel to the Riccarton Road to the centre of Mandeville Road, thence northerly along the centre of Mandeville Road to the centre of Riccarton Road, thence westerly along the centre of Riccarton Road to the centre of Straven Road, thence northerly along the centre of Straven Road to the River Avon, then easterly generally along the River Avon to the northern railway-line, thence southerly along the said railway-line to the starting-point; and that such special rate shall be an annual-recurring rate during the currency of such loan, and be payable half-yearly on the 1st day of March and the 1st day of September in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.

HUNTLY ROAD BOARD.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that at a poll of the ratepayers of the Matahuru Road District taken on the 26th day of January, 1912, on the proposal of the Huntly Road Board to borrow the sum of £1,080 for the purpose of further metalling the roads of the Matahuru Special-rating District, the number of votes recorded for the proposal was 24, and the number of votes recorded against the proposal was 12.

I therefore declare the proposal to be carried.

IN pursuance of all powers and authorities enabling me under the Government Railways Act, 1908, I, John Andrew Millar, Minister of Railways, do hereby make the following alterations in the scale of fares, rates, and charges in force on the New Zealand Government railways open for traffic, such alterations to come into force on and after the 11th day of March, 1912:—

The suburban fares appearing in the New Zealand Gazette of 5th November, 1908, will apply also as under:—
