Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Additional Land at Palmerston North taken for the Purposes of the Foxton—New Plymouth Railway.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Foxton—New Plymouth Railway to take further land at Palmerston North, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land mentioned in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Allocating Land reserved and taken for a Railway to the Purposes of a Road at Kopuaranga.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto forms part of land taken for the purposes of the Wellington—Napier Railway, and it is considered desirable to allocate such land to the purposes of a road :

And whereas it has been certified by the Minister of Railways that such land is not required for railway purposes : And whereas such land is situated in the County of Masterton, the local authority of which has assented to the issue of this Proclamation :

And whereas His Excellency the Governor is of opinion that the said local authority can conveniently construct and maintain the said road :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by section one hundred and ninety-seven of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto shall, upon the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette, become a road, and that the said road shall be under the control of the Masterton County Council, and shall be maintained by the said Council in like manner as other public highways are controlled and maintained by the said Council.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Wellington Land District, containing 1 acre and 17 perches, more or less, being a portion of railway land at Kopuaranga, and being bounded as follows : On the south-east and east by the south-eastern and eastern boundaries of the railway land, distances of 538·5 links and 851·1 links respectively; and on the north and west by lines bearing 97° 2′, 7° 2′ 10″, and 18° 8′ 36″ respectively, distances of 100 links, 841·4 links, and 519·5 links respectively : as the said parcel of land is more particularly shown (coloured purple) on plan marked W.R. 19182, in the office of the Minister of Railways, at Wellington.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this twenty-seventh day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and twelve.

Additional Land taken for Sydenham Post-office, in the City of Christchurch.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act, 1908, for the purposes of the Sydenham Post-office, in the City of Christchurch :

And whereas an agreement has been entered into with the owner of the land described in the Schedule hereto to take such land for the purposes of the said post-office :

And whereas a plan has been prepared, and the Minister has recommended the Governor to issue a Proclamation taking the land as required by the Public Works Act, 1908 :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in me by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, and being satisfied of the sufficiency of the agreement hereinbefore referred to, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of the said post-office; and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the twenty-third day of March, one thousand nine hundred and twelve,
