Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 10, 250 links; towards the north-east by Miharo Street, 100 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 8, 250 links; and towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 16 and 17, 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood, more or less, being Section No. 7, Block VII, Town of Rangataua. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 8, 250 links; towards the north-east by Miharo Street, 100 links; towards the south-east by Section No. 6, 250 links; and towards the south-west by Sections Nos. 18 and 19, 100 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 1 rood 4 perches, more or less, being Section No. 1, Block VI, Town of Rangataua. Bounded towards the north-west by Section No. 19, 250 links; towards the north-east by Sections Nos. 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 500 links; towards the south-east by Sections Nos. 3, 4, 5, 250 links; and towards the south-west by Miharo Street, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the office of the Chief Surveyor at Wellington.

Warkworth Town District not to be Part of County of Rodney.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day December, 1911.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the Governor is satisfied that the population of the Warkworth Town District, in the County of Rodney, exceeds five hundred, and the Town Board of the said Warkworth Town District has made application that the said town district shall not form part of the County of Rodney, being the county within the boundaries of which it is situated:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in him by the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1908 (No. 2), and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and twelve, the Warkworth Town District shall not form part of the County of Rodney.

The Wellsford Agricultural and Pastoral Society incorporated.—Notice No. 1573.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of December, 1911.

PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Agricultural and Pastoral Societies Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby incorporate the members of the Wellsford Agricultural and Pastoral Society, and such persons as shall hereafter be admitted members of the said society agreeably to the rules of the said society and the provisions of the said Act, into a body corporate under the style and title of “The Wellsford Agricultural and Pastoral Society.”

Conferring Extended Jurisdiction on Native Land Court.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-second day of December, 1911.

Present:

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE SIR J. G. WARD, BART.,
PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, it is enacted that the Governor may by Order in Council confer upon the Native Land Court, as effectively as if the same was conferred by this Act, jurisdiction in any matter or question affecting the rights of Natives in any real or personal property, and thereupon the Court shall have full jurisdiction and power to determine that matter or question according to law:

And whereas petitions were presented to Parliament signed by numerous Natives praying that certain lands alleged to be reserves be returned to them: And whereas the House of Representatives on the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eight, ordered that petitions numbers 464/08 and 626/08, together with the report of the Native Affairs Committee thereon, be referred to the Government for immediate inquiry: And whereas the matter has been duly considered and a sum of six hundred and fourteen pounds has been appropriated, to be paid to the Natives as compensation in full satisfaction for all claims:

And whereas it is expedient that the Native Land Court should be empowered to inquire into and ascertain who are the Natives entitled, and in what shares and proportions, to the said compensation moneys:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by subsection one of section twenty-five of the Native Land Act, 1909, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the investigation and determination of the matters aforesaid, and of any matter or question which may arise in relation thereto, or which it shall be necessary to determine for the purpose aforesaid, shall be and the same are hereby brought within the jurisdiction of the said Court: And it is hereby declared that this Order in Council is made under the provisions in that behalf of the Native Land Act, 1909, and shall operate accordingly as a consent of the Governor in Council to the proceedings hereby authorized.
