And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF MOSGIEL.

Result of Poll for Proposed Loan.

In the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908. and of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same respectively.

I HEREBY give notice that on the 9th day of October, 1911. a proposal was submitted by the Mosgiel Borough Council to the ratepayers of the Borough of Mosgiel for raising a special loan of £3,000 for the purpose of building a town hall and public offices, library, and reading-room, and providing a site and furniture for the same, which proposal was published in the Taieri Advocate newspaper on the 6th, 13th. 20th, and 27th September, 1911 ; and that the number of votes recorded respectively for and against the proposal was as follows : For the proposal, 138 ; against the proposal. 66.

And I declare the said proposal to be carried.

BOROUGH OF HASTINGS.

In the matter of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Hastings Borough Loan Empowering Act, 1910.

I, JAMES GARNETT, Mayor of the Borough of Hastings, hereby give notice that on the 12th day of October, 1911. a poll of the ratepayers of the said borough was duly held and taken on a proposal of the Council of the said borough to raise a special loan ot £7,000 for the following purpose : For drainage and water-supply connections in the Borough of Hastings, in relation to and in connection with the drainage, sanitation, and water-supply of premises in the said borough, and for the purpose of the immediate payment for any works the cost whereof is payable by any owners of premises in the said Borough of Hastings for the above purpose.

At such poll the number of votes recorded was as follows : For the proposal, 167 ; against the proposal, 10.

Wherefore I declare the said proposal to be duly carried.

WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL.

Notice of Result of Poll on Proposal to raise a Loan.

PURSUANT to section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of ratepayers of the Papanui and Scotston Special-rating District was taken on the 28th day of September, 1911, on the proposal of the Waimairi County Council to borrow a sum of £7,000 for the purpose of channelling, regrading, and asphalting of the footpaths in the said special area.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal was 60. The number of votes recorded against the proposal was 50.

The number of votes recorded for the proposal not being a three-fifths majority of the valid votes polled, I therefore declare the proposal lost.
