Notifying the Proposed Exchange of Crown Land in the Wellington Land District for other Land.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

WHEREAS by section eleven of the Scenery Preservation Amendment Act, 1910, it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, whenever he deems it expedient for the purposes of scenery-preservation, to grant in fee-simple any area of Crown land in exchange for the fee-simple of any other land which in his opinion is of approximately equal value, and that such exchange may be made under the provisions of section one hundred and forty-two of the Land Act, 1908:

And whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto for the land described in the second column of the said Schedule, and the owner of the land described in the second column of the said Schedule has agreed to such exchange:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, doth hereby revoke the notification dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published on page 1803 of Gazette No. 45, of the first day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and in lieu thereof doth hereby declare that it is his intention to grant in fee-simple the area of Crown land described in the first column of the Schedule hereto in exchange for the fee-simple of the area of land described in the second column of the said Schedule.

All that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 14 acres. more or less. being Section No. 4, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the southern corner of Section No. 77, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District; towards the north-west generally by Section No. 76, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District, 960 links, 3086 links, and 400·6 links; towards the south-east generally by a public road, 1741·3 links, 1753·6 links, and 1030 links; and towards the north-east by Crown land, 125 links.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing 462 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block IX, and Sections Nos. 46 and 47, Block XIII, Wairarapa Survey District, bounded as follows: Commencing at the south-eastern corner of Section No. 12, Block IV, Onoke Survey District; towards the west generally by Section No. 12, Block IV, and Sections 14, 20, and 75, Block II, Onoke Survey District, 10034 links, 631 links, 1141 links, 1012 links, 2311 links, 1338 links, 1047 links, 1681 links, 1533 links, 1206 links, 1582 links, 2915 links, 2041 links, 1934 links, 353 links, and 3339 links; by Section No. 76, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District, 7980 links and 7866 links; towards the north-east by Crown land, 147 links, to a public road; towards the south-east and east generally by a public road, 5006 links, 3134·8 links, 6013·6 links, 1730·7 links, 2373·1 links, 1047·5 links,

1793 links, 750·5 links, 2094·9 links, 2759·7 links, 2230·7 links, 5376·8 links, 5437·5 links, 3788·2 links, and 3481 links; by Crown land, 369 links; and by Section No. 54, Block I, Haurangi Survey District, 4925 links, to the place of commencement.

Be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 540/14, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

west, north-west, and north-east generally by Section No. 76, Block IX, Wairarapa Survey District, 390·1 links, 512·6 links, 50·1 links, 210 links, 533·5 links, 407·4 links, 50·2 links, 198·6 links, 717·3 links, 556·8 links, 661·4 links, 48·7 links; and towards the south-east generally by portion of the Western Lake Road between traverse pegs marked XVI, XVII, XVIII, XIX, XX, XXI, and XXII, 3642·1 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: save and except two right-of-ways, each 50 links in width, to the said road.

As the above areas are delineated on the plan marked L. 540/14, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, Wellington, and thereon bordered green.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this twelfth day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.
