Aria Survey District, to the southern boundary of Block IV; thence by Block IV, Aria Survey District, and Blocks I, II, and III, Tangitu Survey District, to the Ongarue River; thence towards the east by the said Ongarue River to its confluence with the Wanganui River; thence towards the south-east generally by the Wanganui River to the north-eastern corner of Whangamomona County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 26, of the 30th March, 1911; thence towards the south by the said Whangamomona County to the eastern boundary of Clifton County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 78, of the 5th October, 1911; thence towards the west generally by the said Clifton County to the Mokau River, and by that river to the place of commencement.

WAITOMO COUNTY.

Bounded towards the north-east by Raglan and Waipa Counties, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 132, of the 13th December, 1883, from the summit of Pirongia Mountain to the north-western corner of West Taupo County, as described in the Second Schedule to the Kaitieke County Act, 1910, and by the said West Taupo County to the summit of Pareora Mountain; thence towards the south-east generally by the said West Taupo County to the north-eastern corner of Ohura County hereinbefore described; thence towards the south by the said Ohura County to the Mokau River; and thence towards the west by the Awakino and Kawhia Counties, as described in the Second Schedule to the Waitomo County Act, 1904, to the place of commencement: excepting the Borough of Te Kuiti.

Altering the Boundaries of Whangarei and Hobson Counties.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this eighteenth day of October, 1911.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS, in exercise of the powers conferred by section sixteen of the Counties Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), the Whangarei County Council and the Hobson County Council respectively did, by an instrument bearing date the eighth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, formally agree that the boundaries of the said counties should be altered to the extent set forth in the said instrument, and also in the Schedule hereto: And whereas it is expedient that such alteration of boundaries be approved by the Governor in Council, and that such altered boundaries be defined in terms of the said Act:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the power and authority conferred by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that, on and after the publication of these presents in the New Zealand Gazette, the boundaries of the Counties of Whangarei and Hobson respectively shall be those set forth under their respective headings in the Schedule hereto.


SCHEDULE.

WHANGAREI COUNTY.

Bounded towards the north-west by Bay of Islands County, as described in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67, of the 27th August, 1903, from the western boundary of Section No. 26, Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District, to the sea at Helena Bay; thence towards the north-east generally by the sea to the north-eastern corner of Section No. 91, Block I, Mangawai Survey District; thence towards the south and south-west generally by the Otamatea County, as described in the Counties Act, 1886, to where the Tokatoka–Mangapai Road crosses the Mangonui River; thence towards the west generally by the Mangonui River to its confluence with the Tauraroa River; thence by the Tauraroa River to a stream which forms the boundary between Allotments Nos. 1A and 2A, Walton’s grant, in Block VII, Tangihua Survey District; thence by that stream to the north-eastern corner of the said Allotment No. 1A; thence by a right line to Horokaka Trig. Station; thence by the western boundaries of Sections Nos. 14, 15A, and 16, Block III, Tangihua Survey District, to Section No. 7, Block I; thence by Sections Nos. 7 and 7A, Block I aforesaid, and the road forming the southern and

eastern boundaries of Section No. 1 to the Waiotama River; thence towards the south-west by the Waiotama River to the Tangihua River; thence by the Tangihua River to the Wairoa River; thence by the Wairoa River to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section No. 8, Block XV, Mangakahia Survey District; thence by a right line to the south-eastern corner of Section No. 8 aforesaid; thence by the southern and south-western boundaries of that section and by the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 9 and 10, Block XV aforesaid, to the south-eastern corner of the southern portion of Section No. 11; thence by the said southern portion of Section No. 11 and the road forming the eastern boundary of Section No. 2, in Blocks XIV and XV, Mangakahia Survey District, to a point in line with the northern boundary of the said Section No. 2; thence across the aforesaid road and by the last-mentioned section to its north-western corner; thence by the road forming the south-western boundary of Section No. 1 to a point opposite the easternmost corner of the reserve immediately south of the road forming the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 11 and 10, Block X, Mangakahia Survey District; thence across a road and by the southern and south-western boundaries of the said reserve, across a road, and by the south-western boundary of Section No. 9, Block X aforesaid, to its westernmost corner; thence by the southern and south-western boundaries of Section No. 8A and part of the south-western boundary of Section No. 2 to the easternmost corner of Section No. 11, Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundary of the said Section No. 11 and the road forming the south-western boundary of that section to a point opposite the south-eastern corner of Section No. 22; thence across the said road, by the south-eastern and south-western boundaries of the said Section No. 22, and by the south-western boundaries of Sections Nos. 23 and 26, Block IX aforesaid, to the place of commencement: excepting the Borough of Whangarei and the Hikurangi Town District.

HOBSON COUNTY.

Bounded towards the north by a right line from the sea at Maunganui Bluff over Trig. Station No. 119 to Trig. Station No. 43, on Tutamoe; thence towards the north-west by a right line running in the direction of Trig. Station No. 18 on Tarai-o-rahirI to the western boundary of Section No. 26, Block IX, Mangakahia Survey District; thence towards the north-east generally by Whangarei County hereinbefore described to the Tokatoka–Mangapai Road; thence towards the south-east generally by the Otamatea County, as described in the Counties Act, 1886, to the Wairoa River; thence by the Wairoa River and the Kaipara Harbour to the sea; and thence towards the south-west by the sea to the place of commencement: excepting the Borough of Dargaville.

Authorizing the Laying-off of Two Streets in the Borough of Lyttelton of a Width less than 66 ft. but not less than 50 ft. and 40 ft. respectively.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by section one hundred and seventy-eight of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, it is, inter alia, provided that where the configuration of any borough is such as that within any particular area or areas thereof it is difficult or inexpedient to construct streets of the width of sixty-six feet as required by the said Act, the Governor may, by Order in Council defining the limits of such particular area or areas, authorize the Council to permit within such area or areas the construction of streets and private streets of a width less than sixty-six feet but not less than forty feet:

And whereas the configuration of part of the Borough of Lyttelton is such that within the areas described in the Schedule hereto it is inexpedient to construct two streets of sixty-six feet in width:

Now, therefore, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby authorize the Lyttelton Borough Council to
