THE following special orders, made by the Kowai Road Board, are published in accordance with the provisions of the Road Boards Act, 1908.

KOWAI ROAD BOARD.
Special Orders.
THE Kowai Road Board, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Roads Boards Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and the Acts amending the same respectively, and by virtue of a Warrant dated the 22nd day of June, 1910, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, in terms of section 119 of the Public Works Act, 1908, and in pursuance of all other Acts and powers (if any) enabling it in that behalf, hereby resolves by special order to borrow by way of special loan the sum of £4,000, for the purpose of providing the Kowai Road Board’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Ashley River and approaches thereto, as described in the said Warrant; that the loan be called the Ashley Traffic Bridge Loan; that the currency of the said special loan shall be for a period of thirty-six years and a half, and be repayable by half-yearly instalments, each compounded of principal and interest; that the interest of the said special loan be at the rate of £3 10s. per centum per annum, and be payable half-yearly; that the Board doth hereby appropriate and pledge as security for the repayment of the said special loan, and the interest and other charges thereon, a special rate of ½d. in the pound to be made and levied by the Board by special order over the whole of the rateable value of the rateable property in the Kowai Road District.
THE Kowai Road Board, in pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in it by the Road Boards Act, 1908, the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and its amendments, and the Public Works Act, 1908, and all other powers and authori-
ties enabling it in that behalf, hereby resolves by special order that, for the purpose of providing interest and other charges on the special loan of £4,000, called the Ashley Traffic Bridge Loan, authorized to be raised under the above-mentioned Acts, for the purpose of providing the Kowai Road Board’s share of the cost of constructing a bridge over the Ashley River and the approaches thereto, as described in a Warrant dated the 22nd day of June, 1910, issued under the hand of His Excellency the Administrator of the Government, the Kowai Road Board hereby makes and levies a special rate of ½d. in the pound on the rateable value of all the rateable property within the Kowai Road District; and that such special rate be an annual-recurring rate, payable half-yearly on the 1st day of April and the 1st day of October in each and every year during the currency of such loan, being a period of thirty-six years and a half, or until the loan is fully paid off.
I hereby certify that the above special orders were duly passed in accordance with the Road Boards Act, 1908.

Notice of Meeting of Owners under Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909.
REGULATION No. 48.
THE Maori Land Board for the Ikaroa Maori Land District hereby notifies that a meeting of the owners of Omahaki B Block will be held, in pursuance of Part XVIII of the Native Land Act, 1909, at the Courthouse, Hastings, on Wednesday, the 15th day of February, 1911, at 10.30 o’clock in the forenoon, for the purpose of considering the following proposed resolution:—
“ That the said land be leased to David Lumsden, of Mount Cameron, Sheep-farmer, for a period of twenty-one years, at an annual rental of £5 per centum on the Government valuation.”
