Special Order made by the Collingwood County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Collingwood County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

COLLINGWOOD COUNTY.

Special Order.

WHEREAS at a special meeting of the Collingwood County Council duly convened and held at the Council Chambers, at Collingwood, on Monday, the 3rd day of July, 1911, the following resolution was passed by the said Council, that is to say: That the County of Collingwood be divided into seven separate ridings, and that each riding shall have power to return one member for representation on the said Council: And whereas the names and boundaries of the said seven ridings are set forth in the Schedule hereto: And whereas it was, on the said 3rd day of July, 1911, resolved that the said resolution should be confirmed at a special meeting of the Council to be held at 10 o’clock a.m. on the 28th day of August, 1911: And whereas public notice of the place and date fixed for the subsequent meeting of the said Council to be held on the said 28th day of August, 1911, for the purpose of confirming the above resolution, and of such resolution, was given by publishing the same in the Golden Bay Argus newspaper, being a newspaper circulating in the County of Collingwood, on the 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th days of August, 1911, in the words and figures following,—

“County of Collingwood : Special Order.—Public notice is hereby given that at a special meeting of the Collingwood County Council held in the Council Chambers, Collingwood, on Monday, the 3rd day of July, 1911, it was resolved that the County of Collingwood be divided into seven separate ridings, and that each riding shall have power to return one member for representation on the said Council. A copy of the said special order will remain open for public inspection at the County Council Chambers, Collingwood, up to the said 28th day of August, 1911. This special order will be confirmed at a special meeting of the Council convened for Monday, the 28th day of August, 1911, at 10 a.m.—F. G. BLAKE, County Engineer and Clerk. County Council Office, Collingwood, 4th July, 1911” :

Now these presents witness that it was ordered by the said Council in Council assembled at the said special meeting thereof held on the said 28th day of August, 1911, that the said resolution of the said Council passed on the said 3rd day of July, 1911, should be and the same was thereby confirmed in the words and figures following,—

“That the following resolution passed at a special meeting of the Collingwood County Council on the 3rd day of July, 1911, be now confirmed; that the County of Collingwood be divided into seven separate ridings, and that each riding shall have power to return one member for representation on the said Council.”

This special order shall take effect on the 8th day of November, 1911, except in so far and to such extent as may be necessary for preparing any roll or otherwise providing for the general election of the Council.

Dated this 28th day of August, 1911.

SCHEDULE.

Puponga.

Starting at the sea-shore at Seaford Golden Bay, the southern boundary of this riding shall extend along the north bank of Pakawau Mud-flat and stream to Westhaven Inlet, thence along the northern shore of that inlet to the sea-coast at Westhaven Heads, thence northward along the sea-coast to Cape Farewell and Farewell Sandspit, thence southward along the shore of Golden Bay to the starting-point at Pakawau River mouth.

This riding consists of the whole of the Taitapu Gold Estates, as shown on the public map of the County of Collingwood, and being section numbered 1 of Square 17 on the Survey Districts of Pakawau, Paturau, and Wakamarama.

Pakawau.

Follows the southern boundary of Puponga Riding from the Pakawau River mouth to Westhaven Inlet; thence along
