Declaring Land reserved under the Land Act, 1908, for
the Preservation of Scenery to be a Scenic Reserve under
the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto
was by Warrant dated the twenty-fifth day of
August, one thousand nine hundred and nine, permanently
reserved for the preservation of scenery under the pro-
visions of the Land Act, 1908: And whereas it is ex-
pedient that the said land should be declared a reserve
under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder, Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New
Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred
by section twelve of the Scenery Preservation Amendment
Act, 1910, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto shall, from and after
the date hereof, be a scenic reserve under the Scenery
Preservation Act, 1908, and its amendments.

SCHEDULE.
ORETI RIVER-BANK.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing
by admeasurement 18 acres, more or less, being Sections
Nos. 120 and 121, Block XX, Invercargill Hundred.
Bounded towards the north by Section No. 119, Block XX,
Invercargill Hundred; towards the east by a public road;
towards the south by a road along the Oreti River; and
towards the west by Section No. 122 of the said block.

Also all that area in the Southland Land District, con-
taining by admeasurement 8 acres, more or less, being
Section No. 124, Block XX, Invercargill Hundred.
Bounded towards the east by Section No. 123, Block XX,
Invercargill Hundred; towards the south by a road along
the Oreti River; and towards the north-west by Section
No. 31 of the said block.

As the same are delineated on the plan marked L. 414/2,
deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at
Wellington, and thereon edged red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this sixth
day of September, in the year of our Lord one
thousand nine hundred and eleven.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908
(hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a
Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted
that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister
charged for the time being with the administration of the
said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic in-
terest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make
inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor;
and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether
Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic,
thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board
was duly directed to inspect and report on the land described
in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the
said land should be permanently reserved for scenic pur-
poses, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommenda-
tion:

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron
Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in
pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said
Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereunder shall be a scenic reserve under
the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the pro-
visions thereof.

SCHEDULE.
HELENA FALLS SCENIC RESERVE.

ALL that area in the Otago Land District, containing by
admeasurement 19 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section

No. 19, Block XI, Woodland Survey District. Bounded
towards the north generally by a road-line; towards the
south-east by a road-line; towards the south-west by
Crown lands; and towards the north-west by the abut-
ment of a road-line and by Section 27, Block X, of afore-
said district: as the same is delineated on the plan marked
L. 596/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of
Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right
Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder,
Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-
Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued
under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the

County of Rotorua redivided into Ridings, &c.

A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the Counties Act, 1908, and the
Counties Amendment Act, 1910, I, John Poynder Dickson-
Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor of the Dominion of
New Zealand, do hereby redivide the County of Rotorua
into two ridings, to be called the North Riding and the
South Riding, and declare that the boundaries thereof
shall be those set forth in the Schedule hereto:

And I do hereby declare that three members shall be
elected for each of the said ridings. And I do further
declare that Saturday, the seventh day of October, one
thousand nine hundred and eleven, shall be the day upon
which the election of the Council of the said County of
Rotorua shall take place; and that Thursday, the twelfth
day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven,
at two o’clock in the afternoon, shall be the time, and the
Victoria Institute, Rotorua, shall be the place, at which
the first meeting of the said Council shall be held.

SCHEDULE.
NORTH RIDING.

ALL that area in Rotorua County bounded towards the
north by Tauranga County; towards the east by Whaka-
tane County; towards the south generally by the Tara-
wera River from the western boundary of Whakatane
County to Lake Tarawera; thence by that lake to the
south-western boundary of Opakau Te Pukatu Block;
thence by the south-western boundary of that block to the
north-eastern corner of Wharenui A Block; thence by
Wharenui A Block, the crossing of a road, and Owhata
Block to Lake Rotorua; thence by the south-eastern and
south-western shores of that lake to the mouth of the
Ngongotaha Stream; thence by that stream to the Auck-
land-Rotorua Railway line; thence by the said railway-
line to the Oxford-Rotorua Road at Tarukenga; thence
by a line along the middle of the said Oxford-Rotorua
Road to the boundary of Matamata County; and thence
towards the west generally by Matamata County to the
place of commencement.

SOUTH RIDING.

All that area in Rotorua County bounded towards
the north generally by the North Riding hereinbefore de-
scribed; towards the east by Whakatane County; to-
wards the south generally by East Taupo County; and
towards the west generally by Matamata County: ex-
cluding the Town of Rotorua as described in the Sche-
dule to the Rotorua Town Act, 1907.

Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of
