SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 3 acres 1 rood 30 perches, more or less, being Suburban Section 169, Town of Makuri. Bounded towards the north-west generally by the Upper Makuri Road, towards the east by Titoki Street, and towards the south generally by the Makuri River; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1102/32, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Also all that area in the Wellington Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 acres 3 roods 23 perches, more or less, being Suburban Section 170, Town of Makuri, commencing at a point on the north bank of the Makuri River, immediately opposite traverse peg No. II on the Upper Makuri Road. Bounded towards the south-west, south, and east generally by the Makuri River; and towards the north-west by the Upper Makuri Road: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1102/32, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured red.

Recreation Reserve in Southland Land District brought under Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, 1911.

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Southland Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and such reserve shall hereafter be known as Edendale Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain.

EDENDALE DOMAIN.

ALL that area in the Southland Land District, containing by admeasurement 5 acres, more or less, being part of Lot 235, portion of Original Section 7, Block II, Mataura Hundred. Bounded towards the north-east by other part of Lot 235, 748·8 links; towards the south-east by parts of Lot 251, 703·3 links; towards the south-west by the Invercargill-Edendale Road, 680·2 links; and towards the north-west by other part of said Lot 235, 700 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1404/15, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Validating Newspaper Notices in connection with Loan of £1,250 for Manawatu County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, 1911.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the Manawatu County Council lately proposed to raise a loan of one thousand two hundred and fifty pounds under the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purpose of constructing the Beach Road, Foxton: And whereas the public notification of the special order authorizing the loan, although given once in each week for four successive weeks, was not given in the week immediately preceding the day on which the special order was confirmed: And whereas it appears that the ratepayers have not been misled by such irregularity, and it is expedient to validate the aforesaid proceedings:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred by section one hundred and twenty-one of the Local Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, and section seven of the Local Bodies’ Loans Amendment Act, 1910, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby declare that the said public notification shall be valid to all intents and purposes as though the same had been properly published, and that the proceedings in connection with the said loan shall not be called into question by reason only of the irregularity aforesaid.

Waimea County Council declared a Leasing Authority under the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of September, 1911.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS the Waimea County Council is a body of persons having power to lease land held in trust, reserved, or set apart for public purposes, and has requested the Governor in Council to declare it to be a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in compliance with such request, and in exercise of the powers in this behalf conferred by the above-mentioned Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the Waimea County Council is a leasing authority within the meaning of the Public Bodies’ Leases Act, 1908.

Amended Regulations.—Leave of Absence.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of August, 1911.

Present:

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Civil Service Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities thereunto enabling him, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke the regulations as to leave of absence in the public service made by Order in Council dated the twenty-fourth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the following regulations respecting leave of absence of officers of the public service of New Zealand, and doth direct that such regulations shall come into force on the first day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

REGULATIONS.

LEAVE OF ABSENCE.

  1. EVERY officer in the public service, whether permanently or temporarily employed, may be granted by the Minister in charge of the Department leave of absence for recreation, on the following scale:—
    (1.) When an officer has served for fifteen years or upwards, not exceeding three weeks in each year.
    (2.) When he has served less than fifteen years, not exceeding two weeks in each year.

  2. The granting of any such leave of absence shall be subject to the express conditions—
    (1.) That the behaviour of the officer has been in every way satisfactory;
    (2.) That the total intermittent leave during the previous twelve months has not exceeded five days;
