Special Order made by the Waimea County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Waimea County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

WAIMEA COUNTY COUNCIL.
Special Order.
That, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 23 of the Counties Act, 1908, the Waimea County Council resolves by way of special order as follows, viz :—
That the present division of the Waimea County into seven ridings be revoked, and that in lieu thereof the said county be divided into six ridings, to be called respectively Maitai Riding, Wai-iti Riding, Motupiko Riding, Wangapeka Riding, Motueka Riding, and Moutere Riding, the altered boundaries of which ridings are set forth in the Schedule hereto.
The said Waimea County Council shall consist of seven members, who shall be elected as follows : The electors of the Wai-iti, Motupiko, Wangapeka, Motueka, and Moutere Ridings shall each elect one Councillor. The electors of the Maitai Riding shall elect two Councillors.
This special order shall take effect on and after the 6th day of October, 1911.
SCHEDULE.
The Maitai Riding shall be bounded as follows :—
Starting at a point on the centre-line of the Waimea River where the said river enters the sea, between Section X, Waimea West, and Section 207, Waimea East; thence generally on the north-west, north, and south-east by the county boundary to a point on the said boundary about a mile east of Bush Cone on the main dividing-range; thence generally on the south-west by the summit of a leading ridge to the River Lee; thence by the centre-lines of the said River Lee and of the Rivers Roding, Wairoa, and Waimea to the starting-point: and including Section 223, known as Reay’s Island, and all islands and mud-flats adjacent to the aforesaid portions of the county boundary; and excluding thereout Section 179A, Waimea East, and the Boroughs of Nelson and Richmond.
The Wai-iti Riding shall be bounded as follows :—
Starting at a point on the centre-line of the Waimea River at the confluence of the Wairoa and Wai-iti Rivers; thence on the north-east by the aforesaid south-western boundary of the Maitai Riding, and on the east by the county boundary to the south-eastern corner of Block XI, Rentoul Survey District; thence generally on the south-west and south by the summit of a leading ridge to a point on the said ridge about two miles due east of the south-eastern corner of Section 29, Square 4, in Block X, Gordon Survey District; thence on the south by a right line from the point aforesaid to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 29, and by the southern boundary of the said section to its south-western corner; thence generally on the west by the summit of the dividing-range between the Wai-iti and Motueka Rivers in Block VI, Gordon Survey District, and Blocks XIV, X, XI, and VII, Wai-iti Survey District, to the north-western corner of Section 28 of the aforesaid Block VII; thence by the northern boundary of the aforesaid Section 28 and of Section 27 and the eastern boundary of the same to the south-eastern corner of the said Section 27; thence by a right line to the north-western corner of Section I, Block VIII, Wai-iti Survey District, and by the northern boundary of the said Section I to the eastern extremity thereof; thence by the southern boundary of the said Section I to the eastern side of a public road; thence across the said road and by the western and southern side of the same to the eastern corner of Section 13, Square 2, in Block VIII, Wai-iti Survey District; thence by the south-eastern boundary of the said Section 13 to the northern corner of Section 17, Square 2, in Block V, Waimea Survey District, and by the northern and eastern boundaries of the said Section 17 to the northern corner of Section 11 of 112, Waimea South, in Block IX, Waimea Survey District; thence by the north-eastern boundaries of the said Section 11 of 112 and of Section 12 of 112, of Waimea South, in Block IX aforesaid, and the eastern boundaries of the said Section 12 of 112 and of Section 10 of 112 to a public road; thence across the said road and by the southern side of the said road to an arm of the Wai-iti River; thence by the centre-line of the said arm and of the Wai-iti River to the starting-point.
The Motupiko Riding shall be bounded as follows :—
Starting at a northern corner of Section 28, Block VII, Wai-iti Survey District, generally on the east by the western and southern boundaries of the Wai-iti Riding, as hereinbefore described, to the south-eastern corner of Block XI, Rentoul Survey District; thence on the south-east and south by the county boundary to the junction of the Hope and Buller Rivers; thence on the west by a right line to the Tadmor Saddle, in Block XIV, Tadmor Survey District; thence in easterly and northerly directions by the summit of the dividing-range between the Tadmor and Motupiko Valleys to the eastern corner of Section 43, Block XVI, Wangapeka Survey District; thence by a right line to the south-western corner of Section 36, Square 6, in Block XIII, Wai-iti Survey District; thence by the southern boundary of the said
