No. 28969.—9th January, 1911.—ROGER CONNELL, of Christchurch, New Zealand, Mechanic.—Improvements in automatic inflators for pneumatic tires.
Claim.—(1.) In an inflator for pneumatic tires having a pump-piston actuated by a rod connected with the tread portion of the pneumatic tube, the combination of a piston which screws on the end of the rod, and which is formed so that it may be adjusted in position by means of a tool inserted in the cylinder, and a lock-nut also working on the piston-rod and adapted to be similarly adjusted, so that the piston may be set and locked in different positions on the rod to regulate the pressure to which the air is compressed, substantially as described.

Extract from Specification.—According to the invention the draw-bar has a coupling-head and a draw-hook pivoted on a vertical axis at the end thereof in such a manner that one or other may be fixed in its operative position in alignment with the draw-bar to engage with or be connected to the opposite automatic coupling-head or usual link-connection, as the case may be, on an adjoining vehicle.
