ADVERTISEMENT OF CANCELLING.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Registrar of Friendly
Societies has, pursuant to section 70 of the Friendly
Societies Act, 1909, by writing under his hand dated the
10th day of August, 1911, cancelled the registry of the
SIR WILFRED LAWSON TENT, branch of the New Zealand
Central District Independent Order of Rechabites, Re-
gister No. 110(17), held at Sanson.

In the matter of the Public Works Act, 1908.
NOTICE is hereby given that it is the intention of the
Otago Heads Road Board to take for the purposes
of a public road portions of—
Section 14, Block A², Otakou Native Reserve ;
Section 19, Block B, Otakou Native Reserve ;
Section 18, Block B, Otakou Native Reserve ;
Section 17, Block B, Otakou Native Reserve ;
Section 16, Block B, Otakou Native Reserve ;
Section 15E, Block B, Otakou Native Reserve.
The plan showing the above road is open for inspection
at the Dairy Factory, Otakou; and ali persons affected by
the taking of the above lands are hereby required to set
forth in writing any well-grounded objections to the taking
of such lands or the execution of such works, and to send
such objections in writing, within forty days from the
first publication hereof, to the Otago Heads Road Board.

A MEETING of the shareholders of the Rotorua Meat
Company (Limited) held on 26th July, 1911, at the
Victoria Institute, Rotorua, confirmed a special resolution
made on 10th July, viz. : “ That the Rotorua Meat Com-
pany (Limited) be wound up voluntarily.” Mr. EDWARD
DYSON, of Rotorua, was appointed Liquidator.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hereto-
fore existing between us, the undersigned, MARTIN
RYAN and EDMUND RYAN, in the trade or business of Mill-
owners carried on by us at Waitahuna, Otago, under the
style or firm of “ M. and E. Ryan,” has been dissolved
by mutual consent as from the 5th day of August, 1911.
The business will in future be carried on at Waitahuna
aforesaid by the said MARTIN RYAN.

CHAMBERS, INNES, AND THORNES (IN
LIQUIDATION).
A T a meeting of members of CHAMBERS, INNES, AND
THORNES (LIMITED) held on Tuesday, the 1st day of
August, 1911, a resolution was passed that the company be
placed in voluntary liquidation, and that Mr. JOHN GIFFORD
RESTELL be appointed the Liquidator. And at a meeting
of the same company held on Tuesday, the 8th day of
August, 1911, the said resolution was confirmed.

MATAURA BOROUGH COUNCIL.
NOTICE OF RESULT OF POLL ON PROPOSAL TO RAISE A LOAN.
PURSUANT of section 13 of the Local Bodies’ Loans
Act, 1908, I hereby give notice that a poll of rate-
payers of the Borough of Mataura was taken on the 8th day
of August, 1911, on the proposal of the Mataura Borough
Council to borrow the sum of £2,000 for the following
undertakings, namely : Electric lighting of streets and
public places of the borough, and supplying of electric
light and motive power to the inhabitants.
The number of votes for the proposal was 86. The
number of votes recorded against the proposal was 43.

I therefore declare the proposal carried.

DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership hitherto
existing between the undersigned as Importers and
Retailers of Fancy-goods, carrying on business in Auckland
and Wellington, has been dissolved by mutual consent.
The business of the late firm in Auckland will be carried
on in future by Mr. B. E. HART under the style of “ Hart
Bros.,” and the business in Wellington will be carried on
in future by Mr. ISAAC HART under the style of “ Hart
and Co.”

NOTICE OF DISSOLUTION OF PARTNERSHIP.
NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership which
has for some time past been carried on by the under-
signed in the trade or business as Farmers was dissolved
by mutual consent as from the 31st day of March last past.

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR
CHRISTCHURCH.
Under the Control and Supervision of the Education
Department.
Director : MR. J. E. STEVENS.
FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are
taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The
full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less
is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this
amount. In case of necessity admission is free.
By the Education Act, the education of deaf children
between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child
is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about
the age of six, but advice should be obtained as soon as any
sign of deafness is observed.
The following classes of deaf children are admitted :—
- Children born deaf, or who have lost their hearing
before learning to speak. - Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf to
be taught in an ordinary school. - Children who have lost their hearing after having
learned to speak.
Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases
above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the
Director, or with
