APPLICATION FOR LICENSE FOR A WATER-RACE.

To the Warden of the Hauraki Mining District, at
Thames.

PURSUANT to the Mining Act, 1908, the undersigned,
Tairua Golden Hills Gold-mining Company (Limited),
of Auckland, Miners, hereby applies for a license for a water-
race as specified in the Schedule hereto, the course whereof
has been duly marked out for the purpose.

Precise time of marking out privilege applied for: 2nd
September, 1910, at 10 a.m.

Date and number of miner’s right: 3rd September, 1910;
No. 78499.

Address for service: Care of Miller and Son, Solicitors,
Thames.

Dated at Thames, this 3rd day of September, 1910.

Schedule.

Locality of the race and of its starting and terminal points:
On the Tairua River, at Tairua, in Blocks VI and X, Tairua
Survey District, commencing at a point in the Gorge section
of the said river about the locality known as Puketaiko and
terminating at the company’s battery-site.

Also the right to occupy for the purposes of the construc-
tion, maintenance, and improvement of the race, and the
deposit of soil and other matter removed therefrom, a strip
of land 40 ft. wide along the entire length of the course of
the race, and extending a distance of 20 ft. on each side of
the race.

Mark on pegs: X.

Length and intended course of race: About ten miles;
generally northerly.

Points of intake: At the starting-point and at junction of
race with Ti-tree Creek.

Estimated time and cost of construction: Twelve months;
£5,000.

Mean depth and breadth: 3½ ft. by 7 ft.

Number of heads to be diverted: Forty heads.

Purpose for which water is to be used: Driving machinery
for mining purposes.

Proposed term of license: Forty-two years.
