NOTICE is hereby given that the registration of the Mokihinui Coal-miners' Industrial Union of Workers, registered number 62, situated at Seddonville, is hereby cancelled as from the date of the publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette.

Additional Rules and Regulations under the Law Practitioners Act, 1908.

BY virtue of the powers vested in us by law, it is ordered by us, the Judges of the Supreme Court, that the following rules and regulations now made by us under the Law Practitioners Act, 1908, shall come into force from and after the 1st day of September, 1911.

THE RULES AND REGULATIONS ABOVE REFERRED TO.

  1. THE rules and regulations made on the 21st day of October, 1908, shall be and the same are hereby amended by substituting two months for the period of six months mentioned in rule numbered 8 and also in the rule numbered 2 of the series of rules and regulations relating to applications for admission by barristers and solicitors who are entitled to be admitted without further examination.

  2. Every candidate for admission under the said rules and regulations who is applying for admission as a barrister or solicitor admitted elsewhere in the British dominions must produce to the Judge to whom he shall make his application a certificate from the Incorporated Law Society or other Law Society or Inn of Court within the jurisdiction of which he practised before coming to New Zealand, to the effect that he has been duly admitted as a barrister or solicitor, as the case may be, that his name still appears as such on the roll, and that the books of such Society or Inn of Court do not contain anything to his discredit, and further stating the period during which he practised as a barrister or solicitor. This certificate is to be in addition to any other evidence such candidate is now required to produce under the said rules and regulations, or under the rules and regulations made on the 30th day of October, 1896.

IN accordance with section 24 of the Education Act, 1908, I hereby declare the following persons to be duly elected members of the Hawke’s Bay Education Board :—

Ross, Robert Beatson.

It is further notified that for the Middle Ward the candidate elected was the only one nominated.

For the North Ward the number of valid votes recorded was—

The total number of valid votes was 181. The number of votes rejected as invalid was 0.
