NOTE.—The weather during the month has been wet, with the rainfall well above the average, but the temperature was mild for the time of the year. Total bright sunshine, 132 hours 35 minutes, and five sunless days. Nine frosts were recorded on the grass, and fogs occurred on eight days. Mean earth-temperature at 1 ft., was 48.8°, and 50.7° at 3 ft. Mean dew-point, 34.4°; mean elastic force of vapour, 0.199 in.; and mean relative humidity, 59 per cent.
