Additional Land at Hamilton taken for the Purposes of the Waikato-Thames Railway (Hamilton Branch Section).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS it has been found desirable for the use, convenience, and enjoyment of the Waikato-Thames Railway (Hamilton Branch Section) to take further land at Hamilton, in addition to land previously acquired for the purposes of the said railway :

Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities conferred on me by sections twenty-nine and one hundred and eighty-eight of the Public Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands mentioned in the Schedule hereto are hereby taken for the purposes above mentioned.

Amended Regulations under the Civil Service Act, 1908, as to the Civil Service Senior Examination.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of August, 1911.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Civil Service Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby amend the regulations under the said Act, dated the twenty-ninth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the thirtieth day of March, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at page 1148, in the manner indicated in the Schedule hereto; and doth declare that this Order in Council shall come into operation on the date of the first publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette.


SCHEDULE.

The Schedule to the said regulations is hereby amended by omitting the reference to the Insurance Department, and substituting the following therefor :—

Authorizing the Auckland Harbour Board to reclaim Land in Auckland Harbour.


ISLINGTON, Governor.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this seventh day of August, 1911.

Present :

His Excellency the Governor in Council.

WHEREAS it is provided by the one-hundred-and-fifty-eighth section of the Harbours Act, 1908 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”) that where a Harbour Board is desirous of executing or constructing any harbour-works upon lands vested in such Board, or upon lands of the Crown, of such a nature that the same could but for that section only be carried out and executed under the authority of a special Act, the Board may apply to the Governor in Council for a special order, and, if the Governor in Council thinks fit, such order may be made and granted :

And whereas the Auckland Harbour Board (hereinafter called “the Board”) is desirous of reclaiming from the sea certain land in St. George’s Bay, in Auckland Harbour, and the said work is of such a nature as aforesaid, and the Board has applied to the Governor in Council for the issue of a special order :

And whereas the conditions precedent to the granting of a special order prescribed by the said Act have been duly performed and observed, and it appears expedient that such order should be made :

And whereas it has been made to appear to the Governor in Council that the proposed work will not be or tend to the injury of navigation :

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the said Act, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth by this special order authorize and empower the Board to reclaim certain land in St. George’s Bay, Auckland Harbour, from the sea, as shown on plan marked M.D. 3667, such reclamation to be carried out and constructed in accordance with the said plan, subject to the provisions of the said Act.
