Bodies’ Loans Act, 1908, for the purpose of constructing certain bridges and culverts, be in future paid out of the general funds of the Board.

And notice is hereby also given that the said resolution will be submitted to an ordinary meeting of the Board, situate in High Street, Blenheim, on Thursday, the 13th day of July, 1911, at 10 a.m., for confirmation as a special order.

Special Order made by the Waitemata County Council altering Ridings and fixing Representation.

THE following special order, made by the Waitemata County Council, is published in accordance with the provisions of the Counties Act, 1908.

COUNTY OF WAITEMATA.

Special Order adjusting Riding Boundaries.

THAT, in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act, 1908, and the Counties Amendment Act, 1908, and amendments, the Waitemata County Council hereby resolves, subject to the consent of the Governor by Order in Council: That, for the purpose of more equitable adjustment of the rateable values and of the representation in the Council, the Waitakerei and Kumeu Riding of the county be dissolved, and that three ridings be constituted thereout—viz., Waipareira Riding, Waitakerei Riding, and Kumeu Riding. That the Wainui Riding be dissolved, and that two ridings be constituted thereout—viz., Wainui Riding and Pukeatua Riding. That the representation of each of the said ridings shall be one, and that the boundaries of the said ridings shall be as set forth under the names of the said ridings respectively in the Schedule hereto.

That the boundaries of the Takapuna, Titirangi, Birkenhead, Kaukapakapa Outlying, Mairetahi, and Waikumete Ridings and the respective representation be the same as at present constituted, and that this special resolution do operate as a special order; and, further, that this special order shall, for the purpose of adjusting the representation and for the preparation of the county electoral rolls for the county elections to be held on the 8th day of November, 1911, take effect as from the 19th day of October, 1911, and to allow time for the adjustment and preparation of the valuation roll as from the close of the financial year—i.e., 31st March, 1912.

Waipareira Riding.

Bounded commencing at the south-west corner of the Waitakerei Block, in Block 1, Waitakerei Survey District; towards the north generally by the southern boundaries of the Waitakerei Block aforesaid and Allotment 8, Parish of Waitakerei, to the Waitakerei River; thence by the Waitakerei River to the north-west corner of Allotment 84, Parish of Waitakerei; thence by the northern boundary of the said Allotment 84 to the centre of the road forming its eastern boundary; thence by a line along the centre of the said road to the Swanson—West Coast Road; thence by the centre of the Swanson—West Coast Road to the Swanson Creek; thence by the Swanson Creek to the Taikata Creek; thence towards the east by the Taikata Creek, the Henderson Creek, and the Oratia Stream to the south side of Parr’s Cross Road, intersecting Allotment 5, Parish of Waikumete; thence towards the south by the south side of Parr’s Cross Road to the junction of the Henderson—West Coast Road; thence by the centre of the Henderson—West Coast Road to the junction of the Waikumete—West Coast Road; thence by the centre of the Waikumete—West Coast Road to the southern boundary of Allotment 100, Parish of Waitakerei; thence by the southern boundaries of the said Allotment 100 and Allotment 67 to the Piha Block; thence by part of the north-eastern and the north-western boundaries of the Piha Block to the Tasman Sea; thence towards the west by the Tasman Sea to the point of commencement.

Pukeatua Riding.

To be the whole of the Pukeatua Road District as described in the New Zealand Gazette dated the 18th May, 1883, page 648.

Wainui Riding.

To be the balance of the Wainui Riding described in the New Zealand Gazette for the year 1890, page 956. Exclusive of the Pukeatua Riding, hereinbefore described.

Waitakerei Riding.

Bounded commencing at the north-western corner of the Waipareira Riding, before described; towards the west by the Tasman Sea to the north-western corner of Allotment 102, Parish of Waitakerei; thence towards the north generally by the parish boundary-line of the Waitakerei Parish to the south-eastern corner of Lot 46 of the Taupaki East Block; thence by the centre of the road forming the southern boundaries of Lots 33, 32, 31, and 29 of the Taupaki East Block to the Taupaki School; thence by the centre of the road forming the eastern boundaries of Lots 29, 28, 27, 26, and 19, Taupaki East Block, to the road intersecting the said Lot 19; thence by the centre of that road to the south-eastern corner of Lot 18; thence by the centre of the road forming the eastern boundary of Lot 18 and the southern and eastern boundaries of Lot 19 of the Taupaki East Block to the southern boundary of the Kumeu Railway-station; thence by the southern boundary of the Kumeu Railway-station and the centre of the old Harkin’s Point railway reserve to the crossing of the North Road in Allotment 62, Parish of Paremoremo; thence by the centre of the North Road to the northern boundary of Allotment 1, Parish of Waipareira; thence by the northern boundary of the said Allotment 1 to Brigham’s Creek; thence towards the north and east generally by the water of Brigham’s Creek, the Waitemata Harbour, and its tributaries, to the northern boundary of the Waipareira Riding; thence towards the south by the northern boundary of the Waipareira Riding, afore described, to the Tasman Sea at the point of commencement.

Kumeu Riding.

Bounded commencing at the north-western corner of the Waitakerei Riding; towards the west by the Tasman Sea to a point in line with the northern boundary of the Ururua Block produced to the sea; thence towards the north by the said line and the northern boundary of the Ururua Block to the Waipatukahu Stream, again towards the west by the Waipatukahu Stream and the Kaipara River to the northern boundary of Te Makiri Block, again towards the north by the northern boundary of Te Makiri Block to the centre of the old Auckland Road; thence by the centre of the old Auckland Road to the northern boundary of the Rakau Whata Block; thence by the northern boundary of the Rakau Whata Block to the Auckland Road; thence by the centre of the Auckland Road to the junction of the road along the southern boundary of the Rautawhiri Block; thence by the centre-line of that road and the southern boundary of the Rautawhiri Block and the northern boundary of Ti Kokopu Block to the Ararimu Parish boundary-line; thence towards the east by the Ararimu Parish boundary-line to the south-western corner of Allotment 60, Parish of Ararimu; thence by a right line intersecting Allotment 163, Parish of Paremoremo, to the western corner of Allotment 41 of the said parish; thence by the south-western boundary of the said Allotment 41 to the Ararimu Stream; thence by the Ararimu Stream to the northern corner of Allotment 53, Parish of Paremoremo; thence by the north-eastern boundary of the said Allotment 53 to the easternmost corner, thence by a right line to the north-western corner, of Allotment 16, Parish of Paremoremo; thence by the northern boundary of the said Allotment 16 to the Rangitopuni River; thence by the water of the Rangitopuni River, the Waitemata Harbour, and Brigham’s Creek to the northern boundary of the Waitakerei Riding; thence towards the south by the northern boundary of the Waitakerei Riding, before described, to the Tasman Sea, the point of commencement.

I hereby certify that the foregoing special order was passed and adopted at a special meeting of the Waitemata County Council held on the 16th day of March, 1911, and confirmed at a subsequent meeting held on the 5th day of May, 1911, and that special order has been duly made in accordance with law.
