THE BURNSIDE HYDRAULIC LIME AND CEMENT COMPANY (LIMITED), (IN LIQUIDATION).


NOTICE is hereby given, in pursuance of section 230 of the Companies Act, 1908, that a general meeting of the members of the above-named company will be held at the registered office of the company (D. M. Spedding’s Rooms), Princes Street South, Dunedin, on Tuesday, the 25th day of July, 1911, at 8 o’clock in the evening, for the following purposes, that is to say:—

(1.) For receiving the within statement and account of the Liquidators showing the manner in which the winding-up has been conducted and the property of the company disposed of.

(2.) For receiving any explanation which the Liquidators may wish to give.

(3.) For determining by extraordinary resolution the manner in which the books, accounts, and documents of the company and of the Liquidators thereof shall be disposed of.

A resolution will be submitted that the whole of such books, accounts, and documents be handed over to the Milburn Lime and Cement Company (Limited).

NOTICE is hereby given that the Partnership lately subsisting between us, the undersigned JOHN JACKSON and JAMES FRASER, carrying on business as Restauranteurs, under the name of “Fail’s Commercial Restaurant,” at Number 196 Lambton Quay, has this day been dissolved by mutual consent. All debts due to or owing by the said late firm will be received or paid by the said JAMES FRASER, who will continue the said business under the present style or form of “Fail’s Commercial Restaurant.”

SCHOOL FOR DEAF-MUTES, SUMNER, NEAR CHRISTCHURCH.


Under the Control and Supervision of the Education Department.

FOR Deaf Children of sound intellect. The pupils are taught to use and understand ordinary speech. The full charge for board and education is £40 a year, but less is accepted from parents who cannot afford to pay this amount. In case of necessity admission is free.

By the Education Act, the education of deaf children between the ages of 7 and 16 is made compulsory. A child is, as a rule, best fitted to begin the school course at about the age of six, but advice should be obtained as soon as any sign of deafness is observed.

The following classes of deaf children are admitted:—

  1. Children born deaf, or who have lost their hearing before learning to speak.
  2. Children who can hear a little, but are too deaf to be taught in an ordinary school.
  3. Children who have lost their hearing after having learned to speak.

Parents and other persons acquainted with such cases above the age of 4 are invited to communicate with the Director, or with
