Notifying Lands in Southland Land District for Sale by Public Auction.

ISLINGTON, Governor.

IN pursuance of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the one-hundred-and-twenty-sixth section of the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby appoint Friday, the first day of September, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, as the time at which the lands enumerated in the Schedule hereto shall be sold by public auction; and I do hereby fix the prices at which the said lands shall be sold as those mentioned in the said Schedule hereto.

SOUTHLAND LAND DISTRICT.—TOWN OF TUATĀPERE EXTENSION NO. 2.

Town Land.

LOCALITY AND DESCRIPTION.

Altitude, from 110 ft. to 120 ft. above sea-level. All flat, excepting Sections 75 to 79, which are slightly undulating; originally heavy birch forest, which has recently been felled. Loamy soil, on gravel formation; Sections 65 to 73 are well watered. Sections 35, 37, and 45 to 48 front the main Tuatapere-Otatau Road; Sections 57, 58, and 60 to 62 front a formed road. The block is distant from Tuatapere Railway-station, school, and post-office from 12 to 35 chains; and a dairy factory is being erected on the western side of the Waiau, immediately opposite.

Opening National Endowment Lands in Auckland Land District for Selection.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the national endowment lands described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twenty-eighth day of August, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rentals mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said lands shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Act.

AUCKLAND LAND DISTRICT.—ROTORUA COUNTY.—ROTOITI SURVEY DISTRICT.

Second-class Land.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Broken land, intersected by a stream running in a gorge which will require a bridge or track to make it passable; 70 acres fern; balance mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, kohekohe, pukatea, rata, rimu, māngeao, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, rangiora, hangihangi, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Light pumice soil, of fair quality, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Situated nineteen miles from Rotorua—eighteen miles dray-road, balance unformed.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Undulating land, intersected by a gorge which has a good crossing-place for stock; 200 acres fern; balance mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, kohekohe, pukatea, rata, rimu, māngeao, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, rangiora, hangihangi, makomako, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Light pumice soil, of good quality, on volcanic formation; fairly well watered by small streams. Situated eighteen miles from Rotorua by formed dray-road.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Rough, broken country; a few acres fern and tutu; balance mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, kohekohe, pukatea, rata, tanekaha, rimu, māngeao, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, hangihangi, raurekau, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Light pumice soil, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Situated eighteen miles from Rotorua by dray-road.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Easy slopes to rough land; about 180 acres mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, kohekohe, rimu, rata, pukatea, and hīnau. Light pumice soil, of good quality, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Situated twenty-two miles from Rotorua—sixteen miles formed dray-road, balance unformed. Some grassing was formerly done on this section, but it is now almost completely overgrown.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Mostly undulating land, broken near Onaia Stream; 70 acres of each of Sections 3 and 5 is fern land; Section 4 contains small patches of scrub and fern; balance of sections heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, kohekohe, rimu, rata, pukatea, māngeao, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, mahoē, hangihangi, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Good light pumice soil, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Distant from Rotorua: Section 3, twenty-one miles; Section 4, 19½ miles; Section 5, eighteen miles—sixteen miles dray-road, balance unformed.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Broken land near Kaituna River and Hururu Stream, running down to easy slopes near Kaharoa Road; about 200 acres fern; balance fairly heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, kohekohe, rimu, rata, tanekaha, pukatea, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, hangihangi, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Fair light pumice soil, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Situated twenty-one miles from Rotorua—sixteen miles dray-road, balance unformed.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Mostly undulating, but broken near Hururu Stream; 60 acres fern; balance heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, tawhero, rimu, rata, kohekohe, pukatea, and hīnau, with thick undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, hangihangi, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Light pumice soil, of good quality, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Situated nineteen miles from Rotorua—sixteen miles dray-road, balance unformed.

Altitude, 700 ft. to 1,000 ft. above sea-level. Section consists of easy spurs running from the Kaharoa Road to the Hururu Stream; about 180 acres fern; balance fairly heavy mixed forest comprising tawa, kohekohe, rimu, rata, pukatea, and hīnau, with heavy undergrowth of karamu, raurekau, hangihangi, mahoē, kotukutuku, and supplejack. Good light pumice soil, on volcanic formation; well watered by small streams. Distant eighteen miles from Rotorua—sixteen miles dray-road, balance unformed.
