after termed “the said road,” was, prior to the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, the boundary between the Mataongaonga Road District and the Wanganui East Borough, but it now forms part of the boundary between the Borough of Wanganui East and the Mangawhero Road District :
And whereas a dispute has arisen as to which local authority should have control of the said road, and what proportion of the cost of maintaining the said road should be borne by the local authorities affected :
And whereas an inquiry was duly held, and a report was made, in respect to the matter :
And whereas it is expedient that effect should be given to the recommendations contained in the said report, and that provision should be made for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter set forth :
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me by the said Act, and of all other powers and authorities in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby direct that the said road shall, from and after the date of this Warrant, be under the control of the Wanganui East Borough Council; and, in further pursuance and in exercise of the aforesaid powers and authorities, I do hereby fix and determine that two-thirds of the actual cost of maintaining the said road from the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and ten, to the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, shall be borne by the Borough of Wanganui East, and one-third of such cost by the Mataongaonga Road Board, and that the cost of maintaining the said road from and after the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, shall be borne in the following proportions, viz. : The Wanganui East Borough Council to bear two-thirds and the Mangawhero Road Board one-third of such cost respectively.
And I do also further direct that any contribution hereby required to be made as aforesaid by the Mataongaonga and Mangawhero Road Boards shall be paid from time to time to the Wanganui East Borough Council in the proportions hereinbefore prescribed out of the funds of the said Boards, within a period of thirty days after demand in writing made by or on behalf of the Wanganui East Borough Council, and that such payments shall be made from time to time for and on account of such Road Boards.

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, known as the Kaimatira Road, situated between the Wanganui East Borough and the Mangawhero Road District, commencing at its junction with the road on the left bank of the Wanganui River at the north-eastern corner of Section 95, Block I, Ikitara Survey District, and proceeding in a south-easterly direction generally through Sections 109 and 117, Block II, Ikitara Survey District, to the boundary between the Mangawhero and Mataongaonga Road Districts, being a distance of 63 chains, more or less; as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 29682, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured green.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Warrant vesting Control of Portion of the Kaimatira Road and the Whole of Gordon Park Road in the Mataongaonga Road Board, and apportioning the Cost of Maintenance of the Same.

ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS by section twelve of the Public Works Amendment Act, 1909 (hereinafter termed “the said Act”), it is provided that where a road or street lies along the boundary of two or more districts, whether that road or street is wholly within one or is partly within one and is partly within another of those districts, or is within none of those districts, the Governor may from time to time, by Warrant under his hand and gazetted, direct which of the local authorities of those districts shall have control of the road or street, or any part thereof, and may also in like manner determine from time to time whether any of those local authorities shall contribute to the cost of the construction or maintenance of that road or street, and, if so, in what proportions :
And whereas the portion of road known as the Kaimatira Road and the whole of the road known as the Gordon Park Road, described in the Schedule hereto, and herein-after termed “the said roads,” form part of the boundary between the Wanganui East Borough and the Mataongaonga Road District :
And whereas a dispute has arisen as to which local authority should have control of the said roads, and what proportion of the cost of maintaining the said roads should be borne by the local authorities affected :
And whereas an inquiry was duly held, and a report was made, in respect to the matter :

SCHEDULE.
All that portion of road in the Wellington Land District, known as the Kaimatira Road, situated between the Mataongaonga Road District and the Borough of Wanganui East, commencing at the boundary between the Mataongaonga and Mangawhero Road Districts, in Block II, Ikitara Survey District, and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction to its junction with the Gordon Park Road.
Also all that road known as the Gordon Park Road, situated between the Mataongaonga Road District and the Borough of Wanganui East, commencing at its junction with the Kaimatira Road, and proceeding in a southerly direction along the eastern boundary of Section 83, Block II, Ikitara Survey District, to its junction with the road known as No. 3 Line Road, being a distance of 50 chains, more or less.
As the said roads are more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 29682, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured blue and green respectively.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fourteenth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.
