Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
ORARI GORGE SCENIC RESERVES.
ALL that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 197 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve 3811, Block XII, Four Peaks Survey District. Bounded towards the east generally by a road-line and Lot 4, Tripp Settlement; towards the south by the road forming the northern boundary of Lot 5, Tripp Settlement, and Rural Section 3968, and by Lot 23, Tripp Settlement; towards the west by Lot 23 aforesaid; and towards the north by Station Creek: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 387/12A, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 93 acres 2 roods, more or less, being Reserve 3812, Block XVI, Four Peaks Survey District. Bounded towards the south by the River Waihi; and towards the west, north, and east generally by Lot 24, Tripp Settlement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 387/12B, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
All that area in the Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 53 acres, more or less, being Reserve 3813, Block XV, Four Peaks Survey District. Bounded towards the south and west generally by the River Waihi; and towards the north and east generally by Lot 24, Tripp Settlement: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 387/12C, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon coloured pink.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fourteenth day of June, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the thirty-first day of March, one thousand nine hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette No. 33, of the fourteenth day of April following, regulations were made relating to the use of nets, imposing conditions and restrictions on the taking of fish, and providing for the more effectual protection of fish in the Taieri River and the mouth or entrance thereof:
And whereas it is desirable to revoke Regulation No. 1 of the said regulations, and to make another in lieu thereof:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by section eighty-three of the Fisheries Act, 1908, and of all other powers and authorities enabling him in that behalf, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke Regulation No. 1 of the hereinbefore-recited regulations, and doth hereby make the following regulation in lieu thereof.
REGULATION.
- No person shall put, throw, drag, draw, or place, or allow to be put, thrown, dragged, drawn, or placed, any net of any description (except a landing-net) in the Taieri River:
Provided that this regulation shall not prohibit the use of nets for the taking of indigenous fish at the mouth or entrance of such river, or from the mouth or entrance up to the ferry or bridge.
Any person committing a breach of this regulation is liable to a fine of not less than £1 and not more than £50.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power and authority vested in him by the Valuation of Land Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby appoint, as from the first day of April, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, the persons mentioned in the Schedule hereto to be members of the Assessment Court for the special district set opposite the name of each respectively.

WHEREAS by Order in Council dated the seventeenth day of January, nineteen hundred and ten, and published in the New Zealand Gazette of the eighteenth day of the said month, regulations were made under the authority of the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, for the purpose, inter alia, of determining the hours of attendance to be observed at telephone exchanges, and fixing the charges to be paid by subscribers in connection therewith: And whereas it is expedient to amend the said regulations with respect to the hours of attendance and charges aforesaid:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority conferred upon him by the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, and all other powers and authorities in that behalf enabling him, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby revoke Regulation 22 of the said regulations under the heading “Telephone Exchanges,” and in lieu thereof doth hereby make the regulations set forth in the Schedule hereto; and doth hereby declare that those regulations shall have effect as from the publication of this Order in Council in the New Zealand Gazette.
