SCHEDULE.

  1. For preparing the defaulters list and the rolls for the ridings within the County of Kawhia: Until the 22nd day of June, 1911.

  2. Time for which such list and rolls shall be open for inspection: From the 27th day of June, 1911, to the 15th day of July, 1911.

  3. Time for appeals against the said rolls: Until the 31st day of July, 1911.

  4. Revision Courts may sit for hearing applications with reference to the said rolls, and adjourn: Until the 21st day of August, 1911.

  5. Time when the said rolls, having been duly corrected and signed, shall come into force: On the 1st day of September, 1911.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this first day of June, 1911.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS it has been made to appear that the preparation of the rolls for the County of Westland, and the taking of certain steps consequent on such preparation, cannot be made and taken within the times mentioned in the Counties Act, 1908, and it is expedient to extend the said times respectively:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers conferred upon him by the said Counties Act, 1908, and acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the several dates mentioned in the Schedule hereto shall be the respective dates for taking the several steps set out in the said Schedule.

Recreation Reserve in Otago Land District brought under Part II of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of May, 1911.

Present:

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

BY virtue of the powers and authorities vested in me by the twenty-sixth section of the Public Reserves and Domains Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, do hereby order and declare that the reserve for recreation in the Otago Land District described in the Schedule hereto shall be and the same is hereby brought under the operation of

and declared to be subject to the provisions of Part II of the said Act; and such reserve shall hereafter form part of Tuapeka Domain, and be managed, administered, and dealt with as a public domain by the Tuapeka Domain Board.

SCHEDULE.

All that area in the Otago Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 31 perches, more or less, being Section 9, Block 1.IV, Town of Lawrence. Bounded towards the north by Section 8, 228·6 links; towards the east by part of Section 6, 106·1 links; again towards the north by other part of said Section 6, 611·3 links; towards the north-east by Crown land, 60 links; towards the south by Wetherstone’s Creek, 860 links; and towards the west by a public street, 150 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 1372/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.

Regulations under the Education Acts.—Staffs and Salaries in Public Schools.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of May, 1911.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1908, the Education Amendment Act, 1908, and the Education Amendment Act, 1910, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, in regard to the regulations made under the authority of the said Acts on the twentieth day of December, one thousand nine hundred and ten, concerning staffs and salaries in public schools, doth hereby amend clause fifteen thereof as in Schedule A hereto annexed, to come into force on the first publication hereof in the New Zealand Gazette; and, with the like advice and consent, doth also make the new regulations in Schedule B hereto annexed, to come into force on the first day of October, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

SCHEDULE A.

CLAUSE 15 is hereby amended by adding the following proviso:—

Provided that, notwithstanding that the yearly average attendance for the year immediately preceding is less than twelve, the average attendance of such secondary department shall be deemed to be twelve if the mean of the average attendance for the three years immediately preceding is not less than twelve, and for the two years immediately preceding is not less than ten, and for the year immediately preceding not less than eight, or if the mean of the average attendance for the three quarters immediately preceding is not less than fourteen, or for the two quarters immediately preceding not less than sixteen, or if the average attendance for the quarter immediately preceding is not less than eighteen.

SCHEDULE B.

  1. As prescribed by subsection (2) of section 5 of the Education Amendment Act, 1908, certain of the additional assistants provided for in the sixth column of the Second Schedule thereto shall be appointed in lieu of certain pupil-teachers provided for in the fifth column thereof, to wit,—

In every school of Grade V, in lieu of a pupil-teacher, one assistant, with a salary of Grade IA.

In every school of Grade VIA, in lieu of one pupil-teacher, one assistant, with a salary of Grade IA.

Every such appointment shall be made as soon after the 1st day of January, 1912, as the pupil-teacher to be replaced has duly completed his term of service as pupil-teacher, or has left the Education Service, or has been transferred to some other public school where a vacancy for a pupil-teacher has been created in the manner aforesaid; but in no case shall such appointment be made in the first instance later than the 1st day of February, 1913.
