Declaring Portion of Moki Road, in the Whangamomona County, to be a County Road.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this nineteenth day of May, 1911.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Taranaki Land District; Whangamomona County, known as Moki Road, commencing at its junction with the Ohura Road and proceeding in a north-westerly direction generally along the frontage of Sections 14, 18, and 19, Block VI, Pouatu Survey District, and partly along the frontage of and partly through Section 2 and along frontage of Section 9, Block II, Pouatu Survey District, to its junction with the Rerekapa Road, a distance of 3 miles 63 chains, more or less; as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 29529, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested in him by the Public Works Act, 1908, and of all other powers in anywise enabling him in this behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the said Dominion, doth hereby order and declare that the portion of road described in the Schedule hereto shall, on and after the date of this Order in Council, become a county road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that portion of road in the Hawke’s Bay Land District, Waikohu County, known as Armstrong Road, commencing at its junction with the Te Karaka to Mangatu Road, and extending in a north-easterly direction through Lot 0 of Subdivision 4 of Mangatu No. 1 Block to the southern boundary of Lot 1, Subdivision 4, of the said block; thence north-easterly through said Lot 1 to the southern boundary of Lot 2 of Subdivision 4 of the said block; thence north-easterly along the boundary and through the said Lot 2 to a point about 28 chains distant from its southern boundary, all in Blocks III and VII, Mangatu Survey District, being a distance of 3 miles 20 chains, more or less: as the said portion of road is more particularly delineated on the plan marked P.W.D. 29413, deposited in the office of the Minister of Public Works, at Wellington, in the Wellington Provincial District, and thereon coloured red.

The Education Act, 1908.—Forms for Certificates of Exemption.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government Buildings, at Wellington, this twenty-ninth day of May, 1911.

THE HONOURABLE JAMES CARROLL PRESIDING IN COUNCIL.
IN exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in him by the Education Act, 1908, His Excellency the Governor, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council of the Dominion, doth hereby make the following regulations prescribing forms of exemption certificate to be used under the Act, and with the like advice and consent doth prescribe that this Order shall come into force on the publication thereof in the New Zealand Gazette, whereupon the Order in Council dated the twenty-third day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eight, prescribing similar forms shall be revoked.
REGULATIONS.
- THE certificate given to a parent under section 150 of the Education Act, 1908, exempting a child from attendance in whole or in part at a public school shall be in the following form :—

CERTIFICATE OF EXEMPTION FROM ATTENDANCE AT A PUBLIC SCHOOL.
THIS is to certify that after due inquiry it has been made to appear that [Name of parent or guardian of child] is entitled to receive a certificate exempting , a child aged about years and months, from attendance at a public school to the extent hereinafter set forth, for the reason that [The reason must be stated in words taken from the Schedule hereto].
This certificate therefore exempts the said child from attendance at * school from the date hereof until the day of , 19 .
Given under my hand, at , this day of , 19 .

Secretary of School Committee, or Chairman and another Member, or Head Teacher.
- Erase blank or insert “morning” or “afternoon.” If the child has reached the standard of exemption all the words after “hereof” may be struck out.
Schedule.
(1.) (In case of a child under ten) “the distance that the child would have to walk is more than two miles.”
(2.) (In case of a child of ten years or over) “the distance the child would have to walk is more than three miles.”
(3.) “the child is under efficient and regular instruction at [Name of school or place]”
[NOTE.—The term “efficient and regular instruction” implies that the instruction is equal to, and the attendance as regular as, the requirements in respect of public schools.]
(4.) “the child is unable to attend school on account of [State the reason, which may be sickness, or danger of infection, or infirmity, or severe stress of weather, or the sudden and serious illness of a parent, or some other cause that renders the child legally unable to attend].”
(5.) “the road by which the child has to travel is not sufficiently passable.”
(6.) “the child has obtained a certificate of competency in the Fifth (or a higher) Standard.”
[NOTE.—A certificate of competency must be signed by an Inspector of Schools or by the Secretary of the Education Department or of an Education Board. After the 1st January, 1912, the standard of exemption will be the Sixth Standard.]
- The certificate given to the head teacher of a school other than a public school under section 151 of the Education Act, 1908, exempting ten or more children from attendance at a public school shall be in the following form :—
