Opening Settlement Land in Otago Land District for Selection.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and authorities conferred upon me by the Land Act, 1908, and the Land for Settlements Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby declare that the settlement land described in the Schedule hereto shall be open for selection on renewable lease on Monday, the twelfth day of June, one thousand nine hundred and eleven, at the rental mentioned in the said Schedule; and I do also declare that the said land shall be leased under and subject to the provisions of the said Acts.

Appointment of Trustees, Charleston Rifle-range Reserve.
ISLINGTON, Governor.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter called the Charleston Rifle-range Reserve, has, by virtue of a certain Proclamation dated the twenty-third day of June, one thousand nine hundred and three, been defined as a site for a rifle range for the use of the Territorial Force under the Defence Act, 1909: And whereas it is expedient to appoint trustees for the said rifle-range reserve, under the provision of Part V of the Defence Act, 1908:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the authority vested in me by Part V of the Defence Act, 1908, and of all other authorities conferred upon me in that behalf, do hereby appoint
Captain THOMAS CARR, V.D., Active List;
HUGH KITTEN, Esq., Addison’s;
FRANCIS McCANN, Esq., Addison’s;
PATRICK JOSEPH O’GORMAN, Esq., Addison’s; and
JOHN JOSEPH McCANN, Esq., Addison’s,
to be trustees of the said rifle-range reserve under Part V of the Defence Act, 1908. And I hereby declare that the said trustees and their successors shall be a body corporate under the name and style of “The Trustees of the Charleston Rifle-range Reserve”; and further declare that the said rifle-range reserve is hereby vested in the said trustees as such body corporate as aforesaid for an estate in fee-simple, to have and to hold the same as a rifle-range reserve for the use of the Territorial Force, subject to the provisions of Part V of the Defence Act, 1908, and the Defence Act, 1909, in that behalf; and I further declare that this Warrant shall take effect on the fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 21 acres 3 roods 27 perches, more or less, being Section No. 98, Block VI, Waitakere Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Crown land, 4385 links; thence towards the south-east by Crown land, the abutment of a public road, again by Crown land, across Bromielan Creek, and again by Crown land, 500 links; thence towards the south-west by Crown land, across the said Bromielan Creek, again by Crown land, across a dam, and again by Crown land, 4385 links; and thence towards the north-west by Crown land, 500 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked S.G. 47031-82/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands and Survey, at Wellington, in the Wellington Land District, and thereon coloured red.

Appointment of Trustees, Lyttelton Drill-shed Reserve.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule hereto, and hereinafter called the Lyttelton Drill-shed Reserve, has, by virtue of clause 54 of the Reserves, &c., Disposal Act, 1910, been defined as a site for a drill-shed for the use of the Territorial Force under the Defence Act, 1909: And whereas it is expedient to appoint trustees for the said drill-shed reserve, under the provision of Part V of the Defence Act, 1908:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the authority vested in me by Part V of the Defence Act, 1908, and of all other authorities conferred upon me in that behalf, do hereby appoint
Lieutenant-Colonel CHARLES JAMES COOPER, Active List;
Major JOSEPH SADLER GILL, Lyttelton Garrison Artillery; and
Captain ADAM MORRISON RATTRAY, Lyttelton Garrison Artillery,
to be trustees of the said drill-shed reserve under Part V of the Defence Act, 1908. And I hereby declare that the said trustees and their successors shall be a body corporate under the name and style of “The Trustees of the Lyttelton Drill-shed Reserve”; and I further declare that the said drill-shed reserve is hereby vested in the said trustees as such body corporate as aforesaid for an estate in fee-simple, to have and to hold the same as a drill-shed reserve for the use of the Territorial Force, subject to the provisions of Part V of the Defence Act, 1908, and the Defence Act, 1909, in that behalf; and I further declare that this Warrant shall take effect on the fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

ALL that area in Canterbury Land District, containing by admeasurement 2 roods 14·7 perches, being parts of Reserve No. 29 and Town Lots 96, 97, and 100, situate in the Town of Lyttelton, and commencing at a point at the junction of Norwich Quay and Jackson Road, the same being the south-westernmost corner of Town Lot 97; thence north-westerly along Jackson Road, bearing 349° 46′ 36″, a distance of 545·91 links; north-westerly, bearing 52° 47′ 10″, a distance of 32·31 links; south-westerly, bearing 109° 46′ 30″, a distance of 65·34 links; again south-easterly, bearing 165° 42′ 21″, a distance of 301·7 links; north-westerly, bearing 289° 46′ 30″, a distance of 3·21 links; south-easterly, bearing 168° 16′ 34″, a distance of 269·7 links; south-westerly, bearing 199° 46′ 30″, a distance of 20 links; and north-westerly, bearing 289° 46′ 30″, a distance of 116·7 links, to the commencing-point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the Governor, this fifth day of May, one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

Postmasters appointed to take and receive Statutory Declarations.
PURSUANT to the authority conferred upon me by the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, do hereby notify and declare that the persons set out in the Schedule hereto, being persons holding the office of Postmaster under the Post and Telegraph Act, 1908, at the places set opposite their names in the said Schedule, are authorized to take and receive statutory declarations under the two-hundred-and-eighty-eighth section of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1908.
