Lands reserved under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908 (hereinafter referred to as “the said Act”), a Scenery Preservation Board is constituted, and it is enacted that such Board shall, when so directed by the Minister charged for the time being with the administration of the said Act, inspect any lands possessing scenic or historic interest, or on which there are thermal springs, and make inquiries respecting the same, and report to the Governor; and shall from time to time recommend what lands, whether Crown or private, shall be permanently reserved as scenic, thermal, or historic reserves: And whereas the said Board was duly directed to inspect and report on the lands described in the Schedule hereunder, and has recommended that the said lands should be permanently reserved for scenic purposes, and it is expedient to give effect to such recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the powers contained in the said Act, do hereby proclaim and declare that the lands described in the Schedule hereunder shall be scenic reserves under the Scenery Preservation Act, 1908, and subject to the provisions thereof.
SCHEDULE.
MATAKITAKI BRIDGE SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 88 acres, more or less, being Section No. 10, Block I, Tutaki Survey District. Bounded towards the north by Section No. 97 of the said block; towards the north-east by a road, by Section No. 61, Square 170, in the said Block I, and by Section No. 7 of the said block; towards the south east generally by the last-mentioned section; and towards the south-west and west generally by Section No. 5 of the said block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 290/4, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
CASLANI ISLAND SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 11 acres, more or less, being a bush-clad island in the Maruia River opposite the northern corner of Section No. 17, Block XII, Maruia Survey District, and numbered as Section 15 of the said block; as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 530/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
BLACK VALLEY SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 7 acres 3 roods 39 perches, more or less, being Section No. 2, Block XIII, Motupiko Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by the continuation of the road forming the south-west boundary of Section No. 60 of the Village of Roto-iti; towards the north-west by that section; towards the north-east by Section No. 92, Square 46, in the before-mentioned Block XIII; and towards the south-east by Section No. 1 of the said block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 172/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
SPHINX SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Nelson Land District, containing by admeasurement 297 acres, more or less, being Section No. 3, Block IV, Maruia Survey District. Bounded towards the south-west by Section No. 14, and by the eastern end of a road forming part of the north-west boundary of the last-mentioned section; towards the north generally by Sections Nos. 15 and 3, Block XVI, Lyell Survey District; towards the north-east generally by the last-mentioned section; towards the south-east, east, and north-west generally by Section No. 13, Block IV, Maruia Survey District; and again towards the south-east generally by Section No. 7 of the said block: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 519/3, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon bordered red.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the Right Honourable John Poynder Dickson-Poynder, Baron Islington, Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over His Majesty’s Dominion of New Zealand and its Dependencies; and issued under the Seal of the said Dominion, at the Government House, at Wellington, this fifth day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand nine hundred and eleven.

PATAWA ISLAND SCENIC RESERVE.
ALL that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 28 acres 1 rood, more or less, being Section 133 (Patawa Island), situated in the Parish of Waiotahi, surrounded on all sides by the Ohiwa Harbour; as the same is delineated on plan marked L. 534/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
TE KOPIA SCENIC RESERVE.
All that area in the Auckland Land District, containing by admeasurement 2,150 acres, more or less, being Section 2, Block VIII, Ngongotaha Survey District. Bounded towards the north-east by Rotomahana-Parekarangi 6A Section 2 No. 2B, 697·6 and 6089·5 links; towards the south-east by Rotamahana-Parekarangi No. 3A, Paeroa South A2, and Run 64, 17613·8 and 15113·6 links; towards the west generally by a public road, 540·4, 339·7, 385·4, 223·8, 745·6, 227·4, 533·2, 743·9, 1334·5, 1422·7, 1959·8, 545·5, 278·5, 260·4, 914·2, 554·8, 1416·2, 1062·8, 752, and 188 links; again towards the north-east by Section 1 of Block VIII, Ngongotaha Survey District (Hot Springs Reserve), 4972·9 links; towards the north-west generally by Section 1 aforesaid and Run 83, 5624·2, 9586, 1774·8, 3014·3, and 11746 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less: as the same is delineated on the plan marked L. 366/1, deposited in the Head Office, Department of Lands, at Wellington, and thereon edged red.
WAITOMO CAVES SCENIC RESERVE (EXTENSION).
