No. 27576.—18th April, 1910.—LEONARD FRANCOIS LAURENT, of New Plymouth, New Zealand, Farmer. Improvements in disc ploughs.*

———

Extracts from Specification.—Extending transversely across the top of the frame is a metal bar upon which a number of weights are supported in such a manner as to be capable of moving in either direction along the bar. These weights may thus be removed to either side of the frame so as to counteract any tendency for the plough to tilt or upset when working on a steep side. Means are provided for guiding the weights and for holding them at any point upon the bar to which they may be moved. . . . The whole framework of the plough is covered with a covering of expanded metal extending across its top and turned down its sides to form a protection for the various parts.

[NOTE.—The above extracts from the specification are inserted in place of the claims.]

Extract from Specification.—The means designed consist of a table or board having preferably a raised edge around its upper end. Extending across the board at a convenient distance from its upper end is a barrier of a particular design that will be more fully referred to. This barrier extends from one edge of the board to within a short distance of the other edge, a clear passage therefore being left at one end of it. Fixed on the table in a line above this passage is a curved deflecting-board, so shaped and disposed as to be adapted to engage a ball or the like propelled through the passage and to deflect it to behind the barrier before mentioned.
